i recently shifted my m140 for same reason, 350bhp in a go cart is a licence loser.
A lad at work has just bought an immaculate M135 off a real fanatic - it’s had everything done to it and is running at 440bhp... Unbelievably fast and you wouldn’t look twice at it - amazing little car!

nah .... the wedge in Princess form was 1800, 4 pot...... but they did also put the 2.2 straight six in some of 'em, like they did with the Wolsely six land crab ... then went to Ambassador with a tail gate and a 1700/2000 O series motor.

the 2.2 motor was a good puller, but thirsty.
I liked the first wedges and had a few of 'em ..... never had an ambassador though.

Are you thinking of the old rover P6 V8 Shaun ....... after they went was only the RR, SD1 and the TR8 that carried Mr Rover's (Buick's) finest 8 lunger. :giggle: aside form the likes of TVR, etc.
Happy memories of ALL of those cars Gra - usually at the Essex Police Driving School 😎
Now did I tell you that back in the day, I had 2 x Rover P6 TC.
Mine was a black on an old G plate while SWMBO had a white one on an old H plate.
Made spares easy to obtain and keep. Did engine swaps and loads of fettling on this old P6s.
The TC was a great performer and used up North on the M1 not below 100mph :devilish:
Mind you I always hankered after the P6 V8S with it's extra deep front valence:love:

I really liked my wedges and the land crabs before them ... big comfy sledges .... also had an Austin 3 litre VDP ... nice but thiiiirsty!

2.0 or 2.2,s Dave .... IMHDO the 2 litre was a better motor - had both and a V8 version (which could've done with power steering). .... Car of the year for a couple of years from memory and a lovely thing to drive.

Once bought a beaut ... 30k on the clock, on an F plate, old boy's pride and joy, back seats still had the delivery covers on and had never been sat in ...... Loved it ... local truck dealer I did a bit with saw it and mythered me for over a week to sell it to him, increasing his bid every time ..... got to the point where profit got the better of my heart (and doubled me money in a week) and it went  ..... saw him the next day, in a MkII Cortina ---- "where's me Rover Neil?"
"wrote the ba***rd off about 6 last night":cry::cry:

River P6 rings a bell. I did google the princess after the post and was thinking it was far too new for it to have been one of those!!

transverse motor too Shaun ....... can't recall anything with a transverse V8 ..... 800 series rovers had transverse V6s (827 & 825) and the Golfs (VR6)
wasn't a P5 was it ?

never found a nice enough one of these I wanted to own, much as I'd have liked one.

I think I am doing my Dad no favours here!! As much as he liked his big engine cars I am starting to think it might be a false memory!! I am certain we never had the family funds for some of these luxury motors you keep picking out!!

not necessarily Shaun .... a lot of these were dated long before they wore out and were or could be cheap motors .... economy was paramount in those days.
if you were prepared to spend a bit more on juice, or didn't pile the mileage up, some very nice motors could be had for not a lot ... my mileage wasn't on the low side then, but I'd rather spend a bit more enjoying what I was in than scrimping about in some piece of crap. ... me mates were running Vivas and I was running Rovers :giggle:

just tripped over these, prompted by a comment from Rory, elsewhere ....
need the first one to make 'sense' of the second

So this week started off sorting out my tipping trailer tyres.
My brother Graham has all the gear to change tyres 😎
IMG_4082.jpeg

Gave the old wheels the needle before a quick rub down and applying Silver Tish 🤪
Only a few years ago these old Kenda Kargos were new - date code says 0612

IMG_4083.jpeg

Graham's Wheel changing gear - makes it so easy 😊
IMG_4084.jpeg

There you go - ready for another 5 or 6 years. Take a lot of punishment running loaded at 95psi.
This time round I went with the Nankangs - lets see how these last 😎

Then Tuesday/Wednesday it was playing in the mud dodging the rain showers.
My mate Matt said, "Cant you just dig up the front lawn for a gravel parking area?"
IMG_4088.jpeg

There was even a stone circle thing going on in the middle
At least I didn't have to do Groundworker stuff with the crappy edges
IMG_4091.jpeg

The prefect hosts even made me upside-down cake :coffee:;)

IMG_4095.jpeg

Neighbour, Dave (popular name), popped in, "Can you just save some turf for my old flower borders?" :D

IMG_4099.jpeg

Type 1 wacked down my my nearly new Wacker

IMG_4104.jpeg

20mm stone wacked down nice and flat on the Type 1 - Job done 😊

When Matt came, " Wow that fantastic Dave - better than parking in the mud. Do you want a beer?" 🍺

anyone arriving here gets treated as I would like to be ... even the delivery drivers get offered a cuppa ... only way to be(y), but then we South Walians are known for our hospitality ;):)
Yep I’m the same Graham 😊
I often get accused of talking too much. But there again we all have a story to tell. It’s amazing what you can find out about people. For example, on the above job found out that my mate Matt was now living with Laura (who made the cake) who was a childhood sweetheart 😍
He was amazed when he came home and I repeated all that over a beer 🍻 🤣

Also to pay straight away, saying "that`s a cracking job, surely it worth more, here take an extra £XX`s"
With you on that one Craig 👍🏻
However on the about job my mate rounded the invoice up by a whole £36 - enough to dine out for two when hospitality open again 🥳
My own view is that yer job and customer care often has the right result 😉

Couldn’t agree more Gra 👍🏻
Sharon’s grandfather, Taffy Williams, comes from Forestfach 😎
We have dozens of relatives around the Swansea area. And are treated like really close family whenever we visit - absolutely love it 🥰

Another great week for the old Neuson mini ;)
Started on Sunday with a few hours in the workshop giving it a service.
Cold windy day, so doors shut and loud rock music playing
IMG_4143.jpeg

All 4 filters changed for some nice new Rico ones.
Was surprised to see the amount of tish that the 2 diesel filters had pulled out of my nice cherry

IMG_4144.jpeg

Now putting Shell Rimula in all my plant. Good to see that it exceeds the spec required by each machine.
And it is one of the recommended oils for my Neuson :geek:

IMG_4146.jpeg

I even changed the oil on the drive units. It was surprisingly dirty. With it being so cold took ages to drain out.
Had to be really patient getting the nice new stuff injected

So that was a nice few hours well spent on Sunday afternoon ready for the week ahead.....
