I Can understand there is alot of companies with covid cash that are trying to spend it before it's taken away
And that some small firms will be buying a machine for the first time
Coupled with the decrease in production for several months will cause a slight shortage

But how can gearing up for the government schemes really cause that much of a demand in machines
What happened to all the existing machines
And who is going to drive these extra machines
If it's that bad surely some of the cpcs hero's will have to suck it up and drive a machine with more than 10 hrs
Or maybe the big sites can make do without lines of machines parked up doing FA
Is this really a problem or are machines the new toilet roll

I think thefts will fall with brexit , it’s not so easy to take kit over to Europe now

Government projects normally require the latest emissions standard kit so brand new for likes of hs2 and the new a30 dualing in Cornwall just starting has a lot of new flannery kit arriving daily

probably have a flat rate deal ...... where ever they are in the UK they'll supply at £xx and have to swallow the costs of tranny over and above a std rate
crane game was always the same ..... big boys'd put a 50/60 tonner out at 18/20t rate and tramp 'em bloody miles at agreed flat rates .... no one local could compete ........ race to the bottom - in freefall usually .

But the emissions standards last longer than 3 years, the kit lasts longer than 3 years
And they could try working more efficiently with less kit.
All it does is polish the ego's of the stick pullers on the jobs

When they where doing the M23 and m25 upgrades already 30% of the excavators where sat doing nothing with operators watching Netflix in the cab

It's just another form of waste that big sites are so good at
