I assume you wouldn’t strap around that to lift because of the chance of it collapsing in?

Glad it's not my job. Given they are saying it is all the fault of the road what are they going to be allowed up there to recover them? Looking at the pictures you can see the road hasn't actually collapsed, one definately just drove off the side into the s**t. Can't see with the other, too much mess.
Doesn't mention the weather conditions, but given the hours a lot of crane drivers put in I'm surprised there are not more accidents.

The one that`s gone onto its N/S looks like the road collapsed, he`s no where near the edge looking at the marks, the one on it`s O/S looks like it was right on the edge of the road and slipped in
Cranes can be a bit top heavy at the best of times, it states they where not fully striped, that`s not going to improve matters, from a COG point of view.

Comments on that are interesting. I couldn't believe it when I first found out how much crane drivers earn. Literally who would take on all that responsibility with all those tickets for such rubbish rates. I met a guy in local who reckoned he earned good money down london way but the blokes who turn up on cranes to lift trusses up are on less dough than me, crazy.

minor oops, at golf course, coworker was spiking the ground to aerate path, left door open while working and shattered the glass, and the same coworker this time last year was moving plywood and the wind caught a sheet and broke the window, another worker was driving into the shed had the roof open and caught it on the door breaking the roof off.

I reckon the pub lad was on crawlers was to do with crossrail I think. He mentioned all the Nigerian banksman with fake tickets but not sure if that's the equivilant of a tradesman blaming his kit?

What attracts people to crane driving for someone else on that money? Is it the fact they get a lot of job and knocks?
