Kubota kx36 hydraulics problem

Hi all

After some advice my kx36-3

Machine starts and does everything it should for about 5-10 minutes but then loses power to one of the tracks. It will still track straight(ish) ok smooth level ground but any mud or slope and it’s not interested!

It’s an 2007 ex utilities machine (Clancy I think) single speed tracking on KYB final drives

I’ve changed the oil and filters which looked like it hadn’t been done for some time!

Any ideas on what How best to find the problem? And if it’s pump or track motor is there any guys out there who repair them? Have spoken to a main dealer

Sorry id assumed these were all pumps !
Been trying to get hold of the workshop manual but not got one yet

Thats the slew motor under the seat. The others are the pumps. Have you checked all the linkages and pipes.

Pump is on the engine looks like a single swash plate to me, under the floor is the slew motor and the rotary coupling

So reading your first post it maybe the seals in the rotary coupling (that will be the one right in the center of the slew ring) the slew motor will be just off centre

What he said

Could check the motor case drain lines also to see if there is excess leakage.

But also as DJ says, check the linkages on the track paddles too, one may not be pulling fully.

Hi guys, cheers for help so far

I’ve checked out the levers and both seem ok

I’ve not checked the drain lines just yet as wasn’t sure how!

I did check the gear oil in the track drives and it was absolutely black and smelt quite burnt. Might say something about the machine’s previous life...

Not sure if relevant but I lifted the tracks up on the boom by about 4 inches and shut it off to see if it was losing pressure, the tracks were back on the ground after about 5 minutes.

Is it worth me swapping the drives over to see if the problem follows the drive itself? Or can anyone recommend a fitter who could repair in the Hertfordshire area?
