I tried the ovoviviparous ecr58 and I didn’t like it, but no two machines are the same so you just need to get some seat time on one.

all the hire places local are kabuto or taki so not much chance of trying one out for couple days. Strange none of them have jcb...

Personally if I was to buy anew 6 t again it would be Takeuchi or kubota. The new kubota looks well put together

What don't you like about the 57C Dave? Apart from the paint which we all agree should be better. I've not driven a 57c but on paper it should be right up there with the best.
I also think Wacker Neuson are worth a look at this weight class, especially if you're looking for a high spec machine.

To be honest nothing I don’t really like about it, I think I’d just like something different, had this one 5 years now so something different to look at, won’t be getting swapped anytime soon. It’s hardly a rotbox

He seems to have gone away from Volvos now to Hitachi. With a fleet that big I assume a lot of the decision comes down to price per unit and availability.

Big companies the accountants have as much to do with purchases as anyone else. They can get through that many machines they run the risk of flooding the second hand market and actually lowering prices so sometimes have to change brand. Local haulage outfit keep swapping between volvo and scania because of this.
