Bought new Takeuchi TB210R micro

Just to update, Iv got my hands on a brand new Takeuchi TB210R micro digger, pick it up on Monday, things are like hens teeth just now but phoned my dealer (at best handlers) that I bought my TB219 off in May 2020, got well looked after with a cracking deal! Managed to be fortune enough to be in a position to buy outright after building a new build house which went well.
long story short I managed to get the machine brand new for less than the most expensive used TB210R currently on eBay which amazes me!
it also highlights that the bobcat 0% finance is a load of junk! If you have cash to buy a new machine you can find a good saving at the guys which are willing to pass it on!
I will get pictures up on Monday and a review to follow once Iv used it that week on a restricted access extension job!
Hope everyone’s surviving through this covid scam!
Neil Porteous.
p.s don’t know how to sort the pictures.

End of year Neil. I would guess that's a 2020 machine. sounds daft but dealers want 2021 badged stuff.
3-4 years down the line and hours and condition will be the factor in what it is worth!! As long as the warranty starts from when he purchased take the saving!!

I fully agree. But from a dealers perspective it pays at this point in the year to let last years stock go on to a good customer, at cost if required.

Let’s hear what the price was first...

Secondhand prices on eBay mean nothing, there’s a supply shortage and a bubble right now. Bobcat machines were cheap for the spec before the finance anyhow, it’s a marketing gimmick by bobcat/doosan to try to build market share. It made not a jot of difference whether I paid cash or finance for any of them. All machines seem to be able to be had for around the same money, but some dealers try to pull your pants down. I was quoted 19k for an end of year basic CAT canopy 1.9, bobcat were 19k for a fully loaded canopy 1.9- twin aux, joystick rollers, extra counterweight, high torque track motors and a hydraulic hitch plus 3 year warranty. Basic machine in stock that years model only 16.5k. Free finance is to build marketing share, they are already value for money/cheap in my book.

You can act like the big man paying cash, but the smart money uses leverage. I bet Neil didn’t buy his house with cash?
Even with a machine on say 2.6% flat rate, the interest is peanuts compared to what you can earn with it in a year.

This will be the first Financed bit of kit in my yard which we wouldn’t normally do I’ve been lucky to come into a family business of over 65 years so the foundations are well laid ! However with the current crisis it made sense to save money for a rainy day like the past 2 pissing weeks and pay for the machine monthly as I get paid for it

finance is not to be knocked in my opinion as long as it is manageable and I don’t get carried away and forget about it and spend the money on other toys 🤣

nobody will give you a medal for owning everything outright and if they do I’d like one for the last 14 years

I’ll just add I’m not knocking you fair play to you for getting on 👍🏽 Good friend always told me £100 in your pocket feels like £200 and he’s bloody right 🤣

Some folk say you should always have something in finance but i don't quite agree with that it's nice to know that x amount isn't going out the back every month. Its all relative to you're financial position imho. If it allows you to buy something which will bring a return in that covers its cost its a no brainer if the money isn't there to put in up front. At the same time current climate it's no bad thing if you can do without. Does also spread cost out better for tax.

Its not a 20 tonner Doob! If he's had a good year, its worth buying something outright, and these little machines can offset a tax bill quite nicely if you have a lump to pay. With finance as you are aware but others arent, the offset is often spread over the 3 years - depends on what finance setup you choose but worth knowing if you are thinking of going this way.

Not a position I'm in I might add.... I need to buy a 20t outright to pay my tax bill, the way the engcon is bringing in the cash! :ROFLMAO:

Not quite. You can also claim the whole lot under first year allowances. Or it goes into a capital items pool to be written off over more years- doesnt have to be three. Since we’re willy waving, I bought my micro to offset against tax but it turned out to be really useful to have around.

I think if we were willy waving we would be showing each other our Aston Martins! Unfortunately for us, we like diggers too much and don't earn enough :ROFLMAO:

Surely the smart money atm uses bounce back. I'm no fan of borrowing but if I wanted to stick 5 numbers into something now I might consider taking a BBL.
