I have a 2 tonne Terex 2006 swivel skip it’s a manual. It’s a brilliant little dumper with Kubota engine but the clutch is stiffer than a crash box on a scammell. The wife can’t even push it right down and she’s a powerful woman !

Best dumper I’ve ever owned though is a Mortimer sxd 060 6 tonner 4 cylinder air cooled Deutz noisy but brilliant . Used to be built by stohert and pitt

Some have 2 return springs on the clutch pedal (mine used to) mine is lovely and light.

Mine did have the 2 springs and I took one off and it made virtually no difference !

Its maybe a different clutch with the kubota (mines old lister) i know of one near me with kubota and clutch is horrible like you say

If the clutch setup is what i'm used to it sounds like the carbon thrust bearing is badly worn.

Take gearbox out, in the clutch housing there is a weird graphite thing.... https://www.pesplant.co.uk/product/46890-carbon-thrust-bearing/ easy enough to replace if that is what it is.
Symptoms would be that you can push the clutch into the floor and it'll still grate. My (Was @Hg2702) Peljob is like this to the extent that the last wanker to hire it snapped the clutch linkage.... that's on the rebuild list next winter, will likely rebuild the box at the same time as it's cheap to do.

That sounds about right , if you try to make a shift on the move you need to get the revs and timing bang on to get it in without crunching . Most of the time your crunching to get a gear . I just thought that’s how they were made !!

They are just straight cut gears so you do need to match revs for changes to an extent.That sounds about right , if you try to make a shift on the move you need to get the revs and timing bang on to get it in without crunching . Most of the time your crunching to get a gear . I just thought that’s how they were made !!

Should'nt have to as such if clutch is working correctly unless your trying to shift whilst at speed.
