Don't complain - suggest what's better
It only seems to be admissions in total, not net less discharges so you can't see if more people are being admitted than are leaving or by how many. Guess it makes the picture look worse if you only take admissions, but maybe I'm being overly cynical.

What really confused me is we have all these reports of the state of everything
The hospitals are completely overwhelmed and so on

Multiple times a day I see copy and pasted crap about my friends aunt's second cousin being a paramedic or nurse and experiencing how bad this is

and we live in a world of instant social media where a photo of a z list celebrity taking the bins out is around the world in seconds
The news out let's are just playing reels of people in ppe. There are no shock and awe photos there are no first hand accounts there just seems to be a complete lack of anything
so is there some kind of media blackout to the worst pictures which tbh is counter productive or do they not exist
i have no doubt this can be a very nasty illness and the shock and awe photos from spanish and italian hospitals 6 months ago proved this but where has it all gone

Fortunately there are not shock and awe photos here as the situation would appear to be no worse, perhaps even less so, than a normal winter with ambulances queuing and people waiting on trollies. It is always bad this time of year unfortunately, but not the complete breakdown seen in Italy at the start of the pandemic.

For the first time people we know are getting it. Some shake it off like a cold, others are getting it bad. Peterborough hospital has run out of beds today, our 82 year old neighbour had the ambulance out for a serious water infection an hour ago and they told him he’s safer at home.

big difference between Covid 19 being "mentioned" and actually being stated as the cause of death!!
be interesting to compare the infection rate figures with some average flu infection rate figures for the last few years??

Unfortunately I think he is right that we will not learn lessons for the next time as too many powerful vested interests have backed the current plan for anyone to be big enough to admit we may have made mistakes.

Getting dafter by the moment?
the UK government issued guidance to NHS medics saying that if a person who has received their first jab goes back for their second but the same type is not available, or the first vaccine type is unknown, then it is "reasonable" to offer a dose of another vaccine
