I had three out the bedroom window a few weeks ago ....... sat on the lawn the cheeky buggers ... munching uneaten cat food i'd put out for the birds ... middle of the day, bold as brass .... dropped the first one and his mate looked at him as if to say "get up and eat you lazy sod - free lunch" .... 'til he went down too  no. 3 had his back to the excitement ... BIG mistake ......... not seen any since.
only had the damned things round here since next door moved in with their wooly-backs and nags .....

cheating using a scope though Dave:p .... I rely on a pair of sights to hit my targets:giggle:
Well done Graham - shooting 'em with real sights 😜
Last night cheeky buggers burrowed under the new chicken run.
This has now got a bait station over the hole ;)
Talk about neighbours that don't understand rats.......
Female towny neighbour, "David - our gardener has just seen a rat go under our shed!"
R - "Well you'd better get your rats sorted out then. They are coming over here eating my chicken food"
And hung up. Her tone was trying to blame me for the rats
Thing is you are never more than 10 feet from a rat 🤣

Dont shoot any more but used to enjoy rat shooting....... not recommended for suburbia but if you shoot them with a 243 loaded with 55grain ballistic tips theres nothing to pick up
Yep, when the old farts come round for coffee outside my barn, we often pot a rat or two.
Mate of mine rocked up with a rocket launcher a few weeks ago :ROFLMAO:

But I think I'll stick with the .22 air rifle

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: Don't worry Dave, I'm a scope user on rats as well. Unfortunately everything I have with iron sights is a bit overkill for the little buggers
Love my scope - few days ago I was missing the squirrels but then realised the cross wind was blowing 'em off target
Wish that I'd kept my old 410

We used to go round the silage clamps with a couple of 410's for the rats - used to set it up so we closed the escape routes off .....i remember in the mayhem my mate running off screaming that hed been shot .... I s**t my pants nearly , but it couldnt actually have happened because we were too organised to do that ....... think the lead had bounced off the wagon tyres and back into his face

Borderline bragging now what were you the Stalingrad sniper!?
haven't shot anything in years Jim ...... think I've said before, that the older you get the more value you place on life .. anything's ... but the rats had to have it ... give 'em an inch an' they'll be in the cat flap after the mog's dishes

was Ed Harris's character in a previous life maybe :giggle::giggle: .... but they were scope-ers ;)

Druid, your pair of moggies are obviously too well fed and pampered. Not being bothered enough to go and chase rats outside is one thing but sleeping by the wood stove whilst the little blighters have their heads in the cats food is just being lazy.
You need to ‘have words’ and not be doing their job for them!!!

sadly Rob, 's as much as my co-pilot can do, to stagger about ATM ... he's gotten VERY old VERY quickly the last few weeks .... Squeak on the other hand'll catch anything he sees ... with the exception of pheasants and squirrels ..... just not in the right place at the right time ...... I, on the other hand, was and so was my Haenel ..." hasta la vista", Ratus ratus  ......... not seen any since either :giggle:

That be a 66mm anti tank. Burnt about 20 of them last year as the legality around them as a VERY VERY grey area........ I don't like grey.
I take a 12G AK47 clay pigeon shooting which is a giggle :)

firing shaped charges? did a lot of work for ROF Nottingham, guns and vehicles div., on RAP development, back in the mid/late 80s in the wilds of mid Wales on Eley Kinnock's range ... shooting those things at RAP wrapped tank turrets ... fun times :giggle::giggle:

Know what you mean @V8Druid we used to go hunting in Australia and shoot all sorts. Nowadays if I'm digging by hand and see a worm I'll pick it up and flick it away rather than put the shovel through it!

I was going to ask if any top hats appeared when you moved the run. Would of been good sport for a terrier
Nope they’re under the old pigstys concrete which have come down soon 😬
My wife’s a beekeeper and one of her friends has a pair of Jack Russels. Think we will be inviting them over soon 🤣
