All last week was on a very nice FM12 grain lorry doing holiday cover.
My farmer friend runs 6 x bulkers on grain with 4 x subbies.
His father and uncle started the business about 50 years ago.....

Typical nice old farm - this one was accessed via a shiny lane with a blue sign "Unsuitable for HGVs"
Love doing this job and it pays for more big boys toys ;)

Last weekend was spent putting our free range chicken into lockdown.
DEFRA made anew order for all poultry to be bio secure by 14th December

Moving the coop while the large cock acts as banksman:p

At dusk we chased them all into the coop and run....

.....then Colin kidnapped 2 hens to reduce pressure;)

The next morning they were all chilled out in the sun

what you do with the rest of 'em :p:LOL: and how'd you choose who got imprisoned :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: ;):giggle:
That was a typo to see who actually reads my ramblings 🤣
Good point because Mother Hen hid in the hedge during the summer and came out with 10 x chicks 🐥 🥰
4 of the buggers were cocks. Another mate had them delivered to him over the weekend for the table 🍗
A lot of the guys on this forum will have chickens so wonder how they are coping with the big Chicken Lockdown 😂

Not had any for a year or two but she'll be getting some again I guess (her department) 🙄 what's the score in a nutshell? Not followed it.

Is at the moment. Only found out about the new rules on Sunday, so it was a rush job and better than nought. The new regs were not exactly well publicised imho!
Have some 1" netting on order that'll be thrown over it.

Used Heras fencing for mine. The door was made up of two bent panels re-worked.

That is ideal matey (y)
My buddy that helped me said, "Why don't you use some of your Heras fencing?"
R - "Can't do that, sold it all a few weeks ago!"
In actual fact, I had about 20 panels that have been stored here and not used for 4 or 5 years.
So I moved them on about half of market price and delivered them to a local charity that helps people with disabilities 😇

Quick fix for that will be to get some of that nylon fish pond meeting.
It's what I used on my roof section - cheap as chips and keeps wild birds out 😜

Now I've just got to keep the rats out of the chicken run.
Great sport shooting the little bar stewards 🤣

They have nested in the old straw shed and burrowed under the pigsty 🤬
So I have bought some bait stations and as of yesterday they are laid up on what I believed to be their runs.....

I had three out the bedroom window a few weeks ago ....... sat on the lawn the cheeky buggers ... munching uneaten cat food i'd put out for the birds ... middle of the day, bold as brass .... dropped the first one and his mate looked at him as if to say "get up and eat you lazy sod - free lunch" .... 'til he went down too  no. 3 had his back to the excitement ... BIG mistake ......... not seen any since.
only had the damned things round here since next door moved in with their wooly-backs and nags .....

cheating using a scope though Dave:p .... I rely on a pair of sights to hit my targets:giggle:
