FG Wilson generator shutting off

Got a FG Wilson generator with a Perkins 1006 engine and interface module.. she was running very smokey and lumpy and shutting off after 10 or so seconds changed the injector pump and she is now running smooth And at 1500 revs but still shutting down on the box.. the red fuel light goes off on the interface and then the engine shuts down.. can anyone help

will it start straight back up? ... air breather in the tank blocked and preventing fuel flow? filters etc? a water saturated filter will not flow fuel for very long?
oil pressure switch closing it down? water temp ditto? low fuel indicator switch ditto? all manner of tish on these auto run gennies that ****s with yer head ... my intermittent issue took some finding but eventually nailed it to a solitary small earth connection

I agree, oil pressure or water temp senders could be the problem, the oil pressure doesn’t need to be connected for it to run, but you can check it by removing a wire and going to earth, it should give the same effect as you have, and like wise with water temp sender.

With mine it constantly monitors all parameters ... no oil pressure and it shuts down .. over heat, it shuts down , low water level - ditto ... won't restart if any oil pressure showing as it won't allow the starter to re-engage ... shuts down if fuel is low .. saves having to bleed it if it's run out .. and don't think it'll restart 'til it's re-fueled .... as you're having issues with the fuel (presumably level) light it could be faulty sensor .. or put some fuel in it

Without going into detail, with two pieces of wire, one for fuel stop solenoid, and one to flash the starter, it will start and run, only if it is fuel issues will it stop running, leaving all other sensors connected will give warning indicators on the panel.
