We have new rules up here that's causing a bit of friction with some. Can only meet one person from another household and only a maximum of 6 persons but schools and child and elderly care carry on as usual. there are exemptions and clauses all over the place it's a minefield

six only in Wales from extended family/bubble .. no one from another household, indoors .... no bloody idea about outside though
kiddy care as per usual .. schools still open, but kids are nailed to one room all day ... teachers move about ... some schools have had whole classes sent home to isolate ... temp.s down 12 deg.s today and pee-ed down for 24 hrs just about ... a very different day !!

Oh don't get me wrong, i've 12k sat.... Both my little loans (about 7k total) end next year one in October the other December. 12k BBL is sat ready to pounce if the world goes dead and kick them into touch. Yes it extends the loan period but it cuts outgoings to a negligible amount

well we have six areas locally, all around us, locked down ... Monmouthshire's got one of the lowest counts in the UK ATM ... keeping the b'stards out, from the surrounding locales is going to be a problem ... few of 'em have any "sensus communis " .... job for the military IMHDO .. do like the Italians did and set up road blocks to keep 'em in

Sweden never looked stupid, but we are having a sharp lesson ATM in the meaning of acceptance.

Personally from week two when it had gone out of control my view was f**k it. The vunerable and elderly we are supposedly protecting are actually the most disinterested in shielding from what I've seen. Yes there are exceptions but the majority who are old and semi terminal couldn't give a f**k and want normality.

This brings us to trick or trace..... It's not being downloaded by me. I think there's more cinister reasons for it.....

I don't reckon the governments plan was ever anything else they just stopped touting it due to the uproar
Why else when the infection rate got so low did they encourage everyone so much to go and mingle together
I think they are just trying to keep the infection not to high not to low until herd immunity is gained as unlike what some people think if we all hide away it won't go away

And I agree there is no way I am agreeing to let the government track my every move
Not am I going to sign up for a vaccine that has been rushed through trials by a greedy pharma company

well me car has no sat nav. and my phone has 'net blocked on it .. it has no idea WTF it is and keeps asking me to tell it/find its location ... sod that.

They may be tracking me but can do very little with the information as I haven't agreed to it whereas if you download their app and agree to be tracked you are surrendering all rights

Completely agree, with this, think big picture guys.
At the beginning of all this, there was a graph shown on the news, where the infection rate goes up and down depending on measures introduced. To start with it was getting out of control, too fast, so they had to take the drastic measure of "locking us down" (lol, I wasn't locked anywhere, neither were you lot, we kept working but plenty of the population believed they couldn't go outside anymore!) This slowed the rate right down, gave time to build the nightingales and give some breathing space - but the economy was f***ed. So you try to open some things up and see how it goes, try and get large sections of the economy going again. Turns out if you do that, the rate rises, but by how much and over what time period. Its not a linier curve of infection so to start with, not many people get infected, but it quickly doubles every day.
So now we come to the recent weeks events, they have seen the infection rate start to climb significantly and so have to start shutting things down again. This virus isn't going away and I foresee it bouncing around like this for the next few years until we either find a vaccine or herd immunity happens. There is NO other option.

For the Gov, its a case of dammed if they do, dammed if they don't and I wouldn't want to be making the tough decisions at the moment. I am so glad my career choice is one that is needed, regardless of pandemic, war, climate change, zombie invasion - whatever! But I do feel for those who's industries have been effectively stopped. People who have lost or are about to loose their jobs need to wake up and go retrain as something else needed at the moment as things aren't likely to be "normal" any time soon. Its not all going to magically go away in Jan 2021! For those of us lucky enough to be needed, it could ironically be some of the busiest times of our lives. Think about it, in WW2, anyone with a bulldozer was flat out building runways etc, yes there was a war going on but opportunities arise from it. Work in schools is going nuts, as covid changes the way they need to operate, they want new breakout areas, new classrooms, new drop off areas etc so it might not be all doom and gloom. People will start holidaying in the UK, this could have a massive demand for us lot, working on holiday parks, Air BnB houses, hotels etc. People working from home will want home office space, extensions, outbuildings etc as they need more space. Offices will turn into flats as demand from them decreases. I see opportunities here not negatives. Although I also completely agree with Rorys point about this winter being potentially very hard, keep your ears to the ground and don't be afraid to diversify a bit, we should all be fine. Look after yourselves and your families, the Gov don't care about you, or your work, I fear its survival of the fittest lads.

Have to agree to disagree here on the current lot. Don't get me wrong i'm no labour supporter either.
They are utter chancers in office now. Making it up as they go along. Multiple U turns, hypocrisy and bad decisions.
