Just thought I'd drag this thread up again. Tomorrow will be 5 weeks still heard nothing. Bumped into local yanmar dealer the other day (lives nearby) took him less than a minute to give ball park figure.

ive has 4 Takeuchis now, but my next machine will be Yanmar! I’ve had several on hire andam impressed with them, and they seem well specced and reasonably priced IMO, plus local dealer is keen.

Not plant related but building materials/fittings etc are all starting to really slow down now, same with specialist tools, had a huge tile saw on order for over a month which is normally a stock item, glass lifters have been ordered for over two weeks now.. I think the days of items in stock are going to be a thing of the past, at least for a while anyway.

28/07 i got in touch with a local dealer CLB :cautious:

To enquire about trading in a 13t for x1 3t x2 1.2t micros spoke on the phone, sent pictures via whatsapp of the 13t havent heard a peep!
But what did i expect when i enquired 2/3 years ago to the same sales rep for some generic pricing for various machines we were thinking about purchasing never heard anything back!

Where as the local woosan dealer repiled within 24 hours (y)

Having the best dealer, is better than having the best machine, and a rubbish dealer.
Im not so sure about this, I’ve just ordered a load of parts- ended up going aftermarket rather than the dealer because their parts were 3x more expensive. Then on other occasions they haven’t got back to me when I’ve enquired about parts. Personally I’d prefer to be supplied the best machine at a reasonable price but then except that I’m ‘on my own’ from then on.

That's fair enough, I was thinking more buying new, with warranty and servicing. Saying that an older/sh machine, when it comes to a dealer part only, a decent dealer is worth he weight.

We recently were in the market for a new workshop compressor. Prices varied from £4.5 to £6.5 from the local compressor people either ABAC or Kaesser depending on options. We thought best go for new as there is 3 year warranty. But turns out only get warranty if serviced by them every 6 months at a cost of £486.00 plus travel. That's another £3k to pay just to get warranty over 3 years. Decided to go second hand atlas copco for £3600 and chance she lasts more than 3 years and we're quids in.
