It's f****ng disgraceful that a UK industry that made such efforts and aimed to be as efficient as possible has gone to the wolves In the interest of green virtue signalling whilst we import lower grade black stuff from elsewhere in the world. 🤔
I'm off on a tangent here but......

Redcar steelworks are but a stones throw from me.
When it was on its knees they said if the ship docked in the tees bay, came in we were saved if it left they didn't have the money to pay for the coal and it was job over.
The ship turned round and left.

Anyway my point is this, the coal was from Brazil.
How on the wholy fishing cabbage patch is it cheaper to dig coal out the ground in Brazil, ship it to the port, stick it in a ship and sail it thousands of miles to Redcar......
When 50 miles up the road we have banks mining in Northumberland and Newcastle?
It must be possible to dig it out the ground and run it 50 miles down the road in a freight train surely.

Definitely a case of the tail wagging the dog AGAIN

Well they are experts at striking.....
Ha your not kidding - always repairing holes burnt in the road from yellow jackets - farmers etc
just had a weekend away with the other half on the bike and nearly all the speed cameras were burnt out/wrapped in black plastic or painted over,
they installed a new 30k fancy new radar that also measures decibels (for bikes I guess) at a local accident spot and it has been cut off at ground level and put back up 3 times in the space of 12 months.

I’m definitely no expert in either road haulage or trains but I’m pretty confident that running trains full of coal down the road would be fraught with issues....

(But I totally share your sentiment!).

I spent 2 or 3 weeks cleaning coal for a large well know open cast contractor back in the day i think it was coal contractors I HATED IT !!!! worst job i ever had it in plant hire foggy every day , the fog never lifted in the cut , the coal all looked the same in the fog , I was cleaning brown coal from black the "seem" was only only around an inch to two inches thick and when the NCB coal inspector left at 4pm the hole lot got pushed in to the same heap by a cat shovel so my days toil in that god forsaken hole was wasted.

I'm mentally scarred by it :ROFLMAO:

I see they've decided to knock the chinks on the head for producing the 5G network. Probably a good idea, even if it does delay roll out by a year or so. Who cares, it will keep British jobs busy.
Best news for ages. They finally stood up to them!👏 Few years to late but hey it's a start.

Something has rapidly changed...... got my tin hat on but it confirms for me that Corvid isn't natural.... No I don't think it's 5G but IMHO It's without a doubt a bio weapon.
My feeling is it's deffo not 5G ...understanding a little of networks etc.
But the whole Wuhan bio thing is far to fishy ....wouldn't trust chinks as far as I could throw em.
Couldn't make it up....a mysterious virus appears ...all governments rush to buy PPE which surprise surprise chinks are main producers....who then whack prices up....(my cousin sells this crap..said what used to be like £2 a box of gloves is now £9...and they buying container loads oh and when you come to ship it...Mr Wong now says shipping is double as well....tell me that's not fishy.

But...I do know of UK producers stepping up and new production lines going in etc so I think the chinks may find things not quite so rosy in the future..

If they are pushing up prices then we can compete for same price and not buy in from them

You would think but after the last couple of quotes I have had from engineering/ manufacturering places, £7,000 for a pair of 5 meter ramps and £6000 for some aluminium grave shouring, I'm not so sure.
