I really like that too ... and the idea of a hydraulic thumb has always appealed as has the MOI Grippen concept too

What is on Facebook is nothing in comparison to what they have
At one point they where mounding buckets up with a 12m telehandler as they had ran out of space to lay them out
All-sorts of treasures in there yard aswell really weird stuff

I always took a grapple to mean an implement with a support stay to activate it and a grab to mean a self contained unit with it's own ram. A hydraulic grapple would have a ram for a support stay.spelt G R A B

4 in 1 is great for dirt, OK for rocks, but bugger all use for things in multiples such as brash or timber. Horses for courses.
In my view we're going forwards with the proliferation of grabs and rotators currently available. Wouldn't be without either of mine, any type of grab bucket would be a big step back for the work I do.

's all semantics anyway ..... but my understanding is;
a grapple has tynes (sometimes/usually interlocking/crossing)
and a grab has edges that come together (usually).. whether selector or clam-shell
but a log grab's pincers interlock/cross with each other (usually), but also have an edge!!

My back likes having a hydraulic thumb around. Never used a grab and around here a grapple is a tined bucket/clamp for picking up brush on the front of a tractor loader.
