Looking at buying one of these. Do I go pre 2013 with less electrics or not? Choice of a 2011 with 5500 hrs or 2013 with 3500 hrs. From what I understand 2013 onwards has tier 4 engine, more electrics and Ecu. I’m swaying more to the 2011 with more hrs. Only a £1500 difference between the 2. Not going to be putting 1000s of hours on it. All advice welcome

If you're gonna be roading it much the newer one might have more hp but check it might not. 74hp and over 9 ton makes for v boring trips. Doesn't really matter much onsite tho. Depends what you're gonna use it for i have a 2007 one and lift a fair bit of steelwork into place and find the newer ones not as precise.

we have a 2002 and a 2014 both with sway and the 92kw ish engine, the newer one defanatly has more poke/speed in the hydraulics but tents to lock out earlier when you don’t want it to. The older one is more dependable what you can do with it. The newer one has aircon which has kept me cool on many a hot day 😎

The Ter 3 engine actually give more fuel pump problems than the T4 common rail did. I used to do a fair bit of work on the JCBs, both good machines though.

Injectors on t4 models are a pain in the ass very common issue and not a cheap fix
