Am I not right in thinking used ag machines hold money better than construction machines. I've went past construction sites and seen them using an ag machines and I always think to myself "bloody farmers" 😆
Yes Ag machines hold good money, but they are almost twice the price when new. JCB Ag telehandler residuals cannot be beaten imo.

Yeah the manitou 1030 looks a good machine, only 25km tho, that's 16mph:(

Was on a 14m jcb at the beginning of the week, I could honestly have run there faster
Was it 55kw? If so that’s the reason sadly though all construction stuff is 20/25kph

I’ve got a manitou mt1740 turbo which i find is quick enough, wouldn’t wont to be going any faster when you hit a gully pot that has sunk or manhole covers! 😱

Wouldn't even bother thinking of ag spec to be any use you need jack legs so that makes it construction. Its ok looking at supposed lift capacity but if you want to reach forwards with a pack of dense blocks for example you'll deffo need legs.

it going to have to drive to every job, the bulk of which will be one or two day jobs, up to maybe 8 or 10 miles from base, of course the other problem is I'm a tight arse so don't want to spend loads, though there's is a crusher bucket, mini track dumper and a micro coming in the next couple of weeks so my bank balance is not what it was.

Some of the merlos are 40km, but I've heard such mixed reports on them I'm not sure what to think
What bucket crusher have you got coming???
I have been quiet for the last few days after recovering from the quote for a C50 for Worsley Plant to go on the 8tonner!!

There’re also different on the levers as well, local farmer to me has just bought 2 of them, could nt believe the price difference between Ag and construction😱

They certainly are, think I said somewhere before, that I was lucky enough to have ago in there latest one a while ago, and while I don’t really have an interest in them, this was a very impressive machine all round😎

Is it possible to get an ag spec one with legs? Or how much of a job would it be to retro fit some? 🤔

Did they not recommend an l140 instead of c50 wider jaws slightly feeds in a lot better.

Anything over 25/30k and you need SRS(smooth ride (boom suspension)) they bounce pretty bad at that 😂
Good 10m machines are always hard to find, I searched for 6 months to get mine, and nothing else since has come up as good for the money.Yeah they are slow at 16mph but get there in the end, I wouldn’t compromise legs over travel speed at all!

Not retro fit them but I probably wouldn't be to difficult to upgrade the construction one
I think they are the same engine just without turbo and de tuned a little bit and I'm sure if you really wanted a gearbox swap would be doable as the AG gearbox has 6 gears and a torque lock in 5th and 6th
Don't know if axle ratios vary

You can ‘up spec’ a Construction mode, but can’t quite get it to Ag spec. But that would be on a new build, I think the op is looking at secondhand, if that’s the case then high spec construction machines will be thin on the ground and like a needle in a haystack.

There are lots features on an a Ag machine that you just take for granted, it’s not just a badge and higher price.

can't see where Mart ??

found it though

IIRC there was a mast and base unit for one of these on Finn last year ... believe it was discussed here some where .. alternate front end for a loading shovel I think
It'll be a 'weapon' for sure ... pity there is no price listed
