Picking up my new Tb219 tomorrow and was going to give it a coat of polish/ wax, does anyone do this to a new machine to offer the paintwork some protection?

I've no work booked in today so I'm giving my Isuzu tipper and the Kubota a polish! Over 50k combined so why wouldn't you look after them. I keep my kit imaculate, looks good and it's a good oportunity to spot any potential issues on your machines. I do get mocked by friends and family though for being OCD

Whenever I pick up a new machine I try to get a few dents in on the first day so it's done and I dont have to worry any more...

Funny but true - when new wagon came I didnt enjoy it at all been super careful with it - still keep it cleaned but much happier with it now with a year and a half of wear and tear

I find painting them is cheaper than polishing. If you can get some mud and grease locked in under the paint it helps keep it from rusting

The trouble I'm finding with cleaning it is I blast grease all over the garage door and shed. There's not much chance of paint sticking to the rendering now

Certainly does, and as someone said earlier, you get to see if any pipes are rubbing etc etc.

Glad to see that im not the only one wanting to polish machinery I thought I was being ocd but the coat of polish will help prevent grease and dirt from sticking to the paint, I will get some pictures up tomorrow.

Don't polish them myself but do use wax when washed. Dont wash too often either personally just knock rough with water only mostly and occasionally proper clean with detergent (something decent not cheap shite). I find if you wash with detergent all the time paint dulls in short time.

crap paint job to start with BTLS ... all edge attack ....... but you won't beat salt air for knackering a paint job

For what it’s worth I wash my machine down everytime it comes back to farm yard.i mostly do one or two day jobs and unless site is very very secure I bring it home every night and lock it in work shop.luckily most of my jobs are in a ten mile radious

That volvo looks a lot older than 3 years!
Im going to give the machine a polish with auto glym super resin then a coat of auto glym hd wax, that should offer some protection.
