Had a good soaking on site today:

Had the dickies waterproofs on which kept rain out but was soaked in sweat as they don’t breath

Any recommendations to a good set ?

rare to find a good set that do 'breathe' properly .... got Helley Hansens but still the same issue, if doing anything strenuous ... keeps the bloody rain out though

I have a whole load of micro fleeces from mountain Wearhouse not waterproof atall but still light and warm when wet unlike normal jumpers that become heavy and cold
Also a good set of base layers makes spending the day wet so much more pleasant you dont get sticky clothes chaffing you so between the two aspong as your warm the wetness doesn't matter

This time of year is a bastard for that. Its too hot for waterproofs but keeps raining! Layers I find are the best thing. In the winter Ill wear two t-shirts, a jumper, jacket and if necessary a thin raincoat over all that when its really cold. Might seem stupid but you can adjust layers to suit. A day on the dumper in 2 degrees requires more layers than a day pouring concrete in the same weather

the best setup ive found when im shooting is an ex military 'poncho' job. IT keeps you bone dry and as its open you dont sweat.

No good whatsoever on site as you can use a shovel as it gets in the way not to mention the fatal amount of piss taking that would happen on site.

Got helly Hansen bib and brace from sports direct doesn't last a day though but is thick and warm, got a bomber jacket and that was expensive but crap. Bought a cheap set from go outdoors and for the money they are good. Got another spare generic set from the local hire company but not tried them yet but they're not them utter crap yellow ones where you may aswell cut them off at the end of the day as they just split.
Also bought a poncho as when sat on the micro all the rain sits on your lap and finds a way through, although the damn thing got caught on something and rips easy so need another one.
