I said to a friend at 7.25 this evening it was odd that Dominic Rabb said he today’s briefing he hadn’t spoke to Boris since Saturday. They announce after the Queens speech he is in Hospital. Then he is in ICU this evening. The tweets from ministers tonight don’t look good!!

The fact he's had it over ten days now i didn't think it was good when he was taken to hospital never mind now intensive care. They keep saying precautionary but i think it's worse than that unfortunately. Hope im wrong

New guidance from the Scottish government on public health during the coronavirus crisis makes clear that work on construction projects should only continue if it is directly crucial to combatting the coronavirus pandemic.


Even then, even essential projects can only continue operating if they can comply with guidance on social distancing, safety and welfare during the Covid-19 outbreak. Any site unable to meet these requirements should close.


Essential projects include:

• those to create or repurpose facilities which will be used directly in Covid-19 related activities;
• projects to create or repurpose facilities that will be used to accommodate key workers, or free-up space in facilities to be used directly in Covid-19 related activities;
• projects that are considered essential public services;
• the repair and maintenance of critical infrastructure.

The government gives examples of ‘essential’ projects, including Edinburgh Children’s Hospital and Department of Clinical Neurosciences. The work is not directly contributing to the Covid-19 situation at this point, but could provide additional capacity if the situation changes, it says.


Economy secretary Fiona Hyslop said: “We recognise that this is an extremely difficult time for businesses of all kinds, but the Scottish government’s priority is saving lives and fighting Covid-19. To this end, all construction sites should close unless they are essential to the health and welfare of the country during this crisis. I want to make clear our thanks to the construction workers who are continuing to work on these essential projects.

As harsh as it sounds it needed to be done sooner for the country and a proper lockdown rather than letting these idiots f**k off to their holiday homes, or sit in the park like a summer holiday, many people people are just selfish scum along with all the bellends wishing bad fortune to boris

It's abit half arsed where majority of workers have to stop unless they can work from home then let construction continue and many self employed will twist stuff to suit their own agenda and continue with minor works building wooden summer houses, painting/decorating, paving and other odd jobs.

It spreads by people moving the virus rather than airborne, so the longer this lockdown lasts the worse the hit on the economy.

On the flip side you need to let people get it and go through it, while not over loading the hospital's the worse thing would be for everything to stop then when everyone comes out, it's back to square one and a repeated cycle

It hasn't sunk in with people that this lock down will be likely until July at the earliest! Boris has hit the job square on to keep the odd thing moving and a bit of coin flowing.

Unfortunately I'm not so sure the rest of em have the standing power that Bozza does... Unfortunately Experts rarely think outside there respective fields and unfortunately in this medical advisors will be the top of the tree without Boris they will walk us into a depression!

we've only just started here Oll ... they're re-purposing buildings for hospitals .. that are yet to be used .... and they're obviously fully expecting to need to use them!! IMHDO, I will be lucky if my 12 weeks is only 12 weeks ....
everyone else's 3 weeks is going to be extended without doubt ... and unless the various idiots, ignoring it all currently, shape up and take notice they're going to see some pretty draconian measures levied against them IMHDO ...
EVERYONE needs to get with the program FFS ... the entire world has not seen such a s**t storm in living memory and if it gets out of hand it will go down in the annals of history on a par with the plague, the black death and the Spanish flu pandemic of early last century
