Forgot to say also - if you owe HMRC or the Govt any money, best to sit tight on that at present, I doubt there will be any enforcement beyond interest - we know there will be financial help available, but it will be well behind the curve as usual.

Just been looking at some figures coming out of Italy. Really questions if the Chinese reporting is actually very truthful. I suspect the reason Europe is panicking now is the reality behind the numbers that Italy is experiencing. Starting to look quite scary, especially as they are in lock down and there numbers are still growing at an alarming rate. Different country and different living arrangements but the numbers are quite sobering!!

And its warmer there and from what I've read, the virus doesn't like heat? I get the feeling there is a lot of misinformation around but it seems to be inevitable that we need start taking some sensible precautions.
I cant believe we are even having a discussion about how long we could survive in our homes for on food! Do we really think it will get to that?

realisticly this country needs to shut down and isolate now to reduce this. We are heading for Italy x 2 if we think we are going to create some for of immunity.

Most things are shut here in France now - been some contact from suppliers tonight saying they will only deliver to the yard or order by email/tel and then collect from their premises on a drive through basis and stay in the wagon whilst being loaded.

Quarry stays open for tomorrow at least.

Just been looking again at the charts (lies, damn lies and statistics). I think I can see why government’s are now panicking. Trump was tweeting 6 days ago ā€œfake newā€ and then on Thursday started imposing border restrictions. I was thinking what has he seen.
THE PENNY HAS DROPPED!
The very early figures have an extremely high death rate.
This virus is far more prevalent than we all realise. By the time you get the first deaths, it has all ready spread amongst the population without symptoms. The first deaths bring more awareness and then the rate of death starts to drop off as you are testing many more people that don’t then die. The worrying thing is the death rate from this is still well beyond any normal flu season. Hence the reason why we are now seeing the drastic border control measures in Europe.
I wouldn’t want to say China lied, but there is a reason they are now imposing controls on people coming back into China. That don’t want it back. We still no too little about future immunity to this virus and they probably know far more than me!
The Italian numbers are probably the first country to be more accurate with there reporting. But, BIG BUT, they are still behind the curve!
This is only the observations from an old cynic but it is starting to look like there is a lot we don’t know(or haven’t been told)!
As the old saying goes, action speaks louder than word. The actions in Europe should be screaming at us all!!!

Tbh I think the panic induced by the media will have far more serious effects than the virus
Social media especially has a lot to answer for just scroll through Facebook and there are so many reports opposing each other often vastly exaggerated that it's impossible for anyone to actually tell the real story
This panic is not only bring out the panic buyers but will bring out the hypochondriac's putting an even greater strain on the NHS
If everyone calmed down accepted noone knows the true numbers and that the government's call is far more complicated than any of us could begin to imagine it would make dealing with the situation a lot easier

Also we have to accept at this stage everyone is going to get it the best we can do is prolong the period of infection to allow the health services to cope as best they can
