Not everything in Oz wants to kill you - we also have things that make you feel so bad you wish you were dead!!

This is a Red Belly Black snake - highly toxic, but shy. Would rather leave than attack, but will defend its self quite effectively.

We like our Red Bellied Black snakes on our property, gets rid of the mice :)
But we love our Diamond Pythons, they go for the rats in the chicken house too :):)

All that horrible wildlife gives me the creeps, I don’t think I could stand it. That python would have me running for my crossbow. It’s big enough even I could get a clean kill from as safe distance.

Nah - pythons are cool.
They are non-venomous and generally eat things you'd rather not have.

The python in question is a Diamond Python and they are very placid. You can carefully pick them up if you know how to handle snakes as they are reluctant to bite. They are fantastic to have around your home or shed as their main prey is small furry animals ie. rats and mice. To many folk in Australia it is an honour to have a Diamond Python choose to live around your place. Even bigger honour to have two of them :)

All I can say is glad I live in England.

You're setting yourself up for a nasty comeback with a line like that!
Call me a wuss, I don't care.
To be honest a huge amount about Australia appeals to me. It's just I'm not sure I'd ever get used to the wildlife.
My grandfather was shipped out there as an orphan back in the day and from the little he said about it that was pretty unpleasant, but that is another story.

Geez - many of the orphans had a rough time. The motives may have been honorable, but the reality when they arrived was very harsh.
