70mm 2 days working use Topps.

Opinions and thoughts.... Also any idea on a supplier for a 210-5 linkage pin? This one was new last month 😬

Oh I will add, on a grapple, handling light iron 🤔 no beating down skip or crushing things! Literally just pick and place.... Can't afford to bang the grab as it's very intense on the ram. 😢

Looks like twist shear? Can the item rotate under load? It looks greased but I can't tell from the photos if the pin has been galling rather than twisting freely? If you are getting through them that quickly maybe a length of EN8 or slightly harder bright bar might give/bend a little more rather than shear like a hardened pin?

Fixed pin, greased in all the right places and bolted into the grapple.

If it was new last month, I’d maybe have a word with the supplier, see if they’ve had anything like it back?...bad batch maybe?

exactly what I said to him earlier on FB PMs ... make a lot of pins out of 80 quidsworth of a 3 metre random BDMS length

my first reaction was impact fracture ... but he says not ...... it looks to have been 'overcooked':unsure: ... it'd be going back if it was mine, especially as it's done sod all .. apparently! :giggle::giggle:

started at the lower edge in the pic and spread around the circumference, 'fore the rest let go IMHDO .. effectively shattered

Did you take those pics through the bottom of a pint glass?

Was it a genuine Komatsu pin? Think I have one or two brand new genuine ones laying in the yard away on holiday at the moment though so can’t have a look till next Friday.
