Just from a logical point of view (with no dogs in the fight/extra toes/a penchant for piracy/inbreeding/wishing for independence etc etc) surely the jam is easiest to spread in a thin layer directly onto the scone and then dollop a mountain of cream on top rather than dollop the cream on and then wipe it back off with the sticky jam knife?
Can’t believe this is even an argument - idiocy of the highest order 🤣🤣
Here in Devon we just give the knife a lick before it goes in the jam pot- just make sure she's not watching😂

So while I've been in bed my thread has been hi-jacked by a few insomniacs 🤣
But, I'm with you Dan and your explanation.
However, I am concerned that no delegates from Cornwall have expressed their views. Maybe you scared them off
So here is Essex we can do it either way because we all like a 'cream tea' treat

However, if we are 'on tour' down the West Country we have to be careful which way we do it so as not to offend our hosts 😎

A very diplomatic response!

The last time I had a Devonshire Tea (in Devon), the order of the cream /jam became a very secondary concern.
Turned out there was no soap in the staff /customer toilet.

Lets just say the exit velocity was very impressive.

But is it bright orange and towing a caravan? 😆 🤣
Photo taken in Devon on the way to Cornwall, no cream teas available unfortunately. If it had been, cream on first, its logical. 😆 🤣
Oh no - what caused the breakdown. Hopefully it wasn't the wet belt
When towing a caravan, I absolutely hate breakdowns which can be dangerous.
I remember years ago, I had borrowed my dear old dad's caravan to take the family on holiday to the West Country 😎
Whilst travelling around the southern section of the M25 the offside tyre blew out.
Family up the hard shoulder, whilst I changed the tyre inches from certain death.
I was absolutely terrified :poop: but got the job done and had new respect for 'high speed roads' :p
So related to William' post and you lot, my next post will be a little confessionary tale...

So many of you will remember that we finally sorted out a very nice static caravan for Ryan to stay back in March '26.
Well prior to this I got hold of a very nice 'fixer upper' Hobby Prestige caravan from 50 odd miles down the road ;)
IMG_8558.jpeg

Picked this up for a 'bargain price' from the seasonal site where it was used as a holiday home.

Will it work
IMG_0628.jpeg

So simply converted it to my 13 pin job on the Navara.
Pumped the tyres up tested the brakes and towed it home. It went like a dream.

But when we got it home and started the fixing up process, realised that it wasn't really suitable for our grandson to live in. The breaking point/deal breaker was when I tested the LPG water heater, it pissed out water - frost damage😳 We then bough a much better static caravan :giggle:

So fast forward to where we are now, and have decided to sell the superb German built Hobby Prestige. Many of you messers will know that there are people out that 'walk amongst us' on FB MP who are complete tossers 😅
So decided to advertise it on a good old eBay auction. That was last Sunday and do you know what, it has gone almost viral. It will sell....

TFR and a jet wash, comes up quiet well

Here is a LINK for you guys to sit in your pants and talk about our Traveller Friends

So fingers crossed that it sell OK. Got someone coming to view it later this week. Already at reserve.
Really hope that someone can put it to good use 😉

Can only imagine some of the tyre kickers that show up to a large polished caravan 😆
