Future Homes and Buildings Standard will come into force from March 2027 but with an 12-month transition period
The government has confirmed that plans to require new homes to be built with on-site renewable energy generation, such as solar panels, along with heat pumps, will fully apply from 2028. "

" Government says latest £66bn figure could come after intervention
The chair of HS2 Ltd is set to step down, the Department for Transport (DfT) has announced as it revealed yet another cost rise for the troubled high-speed rail project. Sir Jon Thompson, who was a veteran civil servant before taking his role at the government-back delivery body, will step back from his role in the Spring after four years on the board. " :mad::mad: after taking how many millions in 'salary'??? :unsure:o_O:rolleyes::mad:

wonder how big the brown envelope was :rolleyes::unsure:

WTF? o_O:unsure::oops::oops::censored:

" HS2 has begun a full programme reset which may not be complete for more than a year, MPs were told this week.

Senior leaders on the project from the Department for Transport (DfT) and the delivery body itself were subjected to a grilling by the public accounts committee yesterday over the scheme’s rising costs "

more HS2 bull sh!t ... " In October transport secretary Louise Haigh said: “ It has long been clear that the costs of HS2 have been allowed to spiral out of control, but since becoming transport secretary I have seen up close the scale of failure in project delivery – and it’s dire.” "

I just dont get it! well, i mean i do, obviously someone is making a kill, but surely someone has to think ''Come on''

Differant world, out in denamark last month, thet are building a new railway line too, a fair length from what i could see. No H&S bullshit, the site boundary was marked out with little flags, no miles and miles of fencing, hardly any machines had beacons flashing, and the ones that had only had one orange beacon, no christmas tree of multi colour beacons, very few people on the ground, most machines had tiltrotators and the dozers had GPS. mimamal saftey signs.

The job just got done, no hassle, no mess the site was tidy and well organised, no s**t, and i bet if a lad tripped he'd be told to get up and not be a stupid **** the next time, no claims:rolleyes:

Definitely a country id be happy to live in.

An utter joke a massive state funded gravy train.
If anyone ever had the time and the gonads to do it I bet you'd uncover some seriously dubious deals.

This fact alone :

Compared to international peers, basic upgrades and megaprojects in Britain are notoriously pricier, with some rail and road schemes costing up to eight times more than in European Union nations.

Nope it's not true, I have it on good authority from all the inductions I have sat in that they are all in fact dead. As is everyone in Europe. Because if you take your hardhat off to scratch your head or forget to wear him vis underwear the only sure fired outcome is a slow and painful death.
