do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better

my last bike was a 640 and although they are similar weight the bigger bikes feel heavier to ride with the extra reciprocating weight.
The down side is no more wheelies on the power alone.
I've had a DR400 Suzy ... was a bastard to start - almost as bad as an XT500 ... but that's a two stroke you've linked ... have campaigned a few CR250 Hodnas over the years, when I was 'younger' and they were great fun as were the 250 and 350 KTMs, I've owned

I rode a new ktm390 adv r - and its a toy tbh - no grunt whatsoever low down and spins up when you rev it to tryfind some grunt, vulnerable lines, 3weeks to get to the plug, was playing up because of the ride by wire throttle sensor, honestly an adventure bike for the shops, like the new defenders 😜 ktm are making themselves look silly, start a side brand if they want to peddle built to a price stuff for beginners,
much prefer the 300 honda

That honda in my link is a very tame four banger, It just looks like a mxer.
I need to put my xt500 back togther one day.
Yeah I have read the ktm is a bit lacking. My choice would be the drz or ktm 350exc if i had the cash, however, I went with the honda.

got a couple of mates (ex (now) plod sicclists) who used to go out on Sundays on the force's XR350s, nicking off roaders where they shouldn't have been (virtually anywhere round here) ... they really rated them - and had great fun on them on Sundays

That Kove is one of the only new current bikes I am half interested in buying - a couple of mates have them and they are great machines tbh!
there is comparison against the ajp out there thats interesting - they prefer the ajp but lots prefer the kove 450, apparently they lack a bit of grunt low down too , few round here have them but I've not ridden one yet, when i do I'll report back, have you ridden them much @Monkeybusiness ?

Sadly not - a mate (who is a very good rider) raves about his (he did a Greek rally on it) but I’ve not been out when he’s on it yet!!!
