Anyone any good with loadall?

Loadall 537 135s poorly, won't go forward.
It's was temperamental so thought it could be the shuttle lever but is not,
Do the gearbox solenoids give trouble or is it more likely to be a clutch pack?
It's always when it's cold and wet when things break outside so you get in the workshop!

Is it trying to move at all? Check relays and some of them have had wiring problems around the dash.... rubbed wires.

Does it have a manual gearbox or power shuttle?

Will go backwards fine just nothing forward, power shuttle model.
If you where rough with the old shuttle it would sometimes work that's y we thought that was at fault but think it was coincidence, replaced that with a shockingly expensive original

Check wire then , in cab and around the solenoids.
I can send you a manual if you send me your email

Have you tried different gears or is it all gears? Our occasionally doesn’t move forward in 3rd but comes alright. If it’s all gears forward not moving then it must be the forward coil not energising. Try swapping it with another coil and see if it works.

All gears not working forwards but fine in reverse,
There was abit of corrosion on some terminals under the fuse box on a few relays, narrowed it down to the worst being on the forward relay so chopped the blocks off and rewired it was still intermittent tho.
Followed the wiring around checking for breaks and damage etc still nothing.
Spotted 2 small relays tucked up the dash found 1 was reverse and 1 forward , turns out there was a cracked terminal in the forward relay block so hoping that once it goes back together tomorrow I've cracked it.

Seemed ok bridging wires etc to bypass it so hoping it that!
Joys of a multi meter😂

Sounds like you've done what's needed when you run a JCB, learn how it works so you can fix it

In fairness to it I've not touched it in 18 years apart from tyres and glass and it's had an interesting life with us!
The new 3cx we've got on the other hand drives me mad with stupid issues that jcb should of thought of when they designed them! I'm always at the back of the cue when it comes to driving that .

I've got a niggling issue with my old 527-67. The selector switch on the dash for 4 wheel steering/2 wheel steering and crab steer has done nothing for the last 3 years. It's just a yard yoke so in permanent four wheel steering, thing is now it getting a bit out of line and drives pretty sideways when going straight

I've got a new coil for her but I think the wiring on her is pretty goosed. Does anyone know which coil I need to energise to get in 2wheel steering and straighten her up a bit?

The weird thing is this one is 1995 and our newest is 2015 and it has a lever into the hydraulic valve and no electronic parts in the steering  I don't know if we are improving or going back to basics

Can't you just turn the wheel until max lock it should stiffen up but keep turning and the misaligned axle should keep moving slowly
May help if you turn it so the rear axle locks first then lift the front axle up on the boom
Will work on some machines

Had a brand new jcb on demo with auto alignment which was out of whack so every time you reset it it would pull itself out again

I've tried the full lock method a few times but doesn't seem to work. Maybe it needs to be hot before it'll blow off easier or pass the steering ram seals but I've never been able to get it to work.

They all do that often you have to straighten up from one side for it to be straight and from the other it's a long way out

Well the new coil I've had sitting for a good few months don't fit 🤦‍♂️ should have maybe tried it before now, it seems a different size inside as in it won't slip into the rod. The guy never said there was an option for this just gave me the coil an I left.

The old coil hasn’t ’let go’ of its sleeve, has it? And left part of the coil still attached to the valve?
probably not, but just an idea

Before you change the solenoids have you checked the axle position sensors? They are mounted quite low on this model and very prone to getting knocked off or damaged. They are required to keep the axles aligned. You can see if they are working as there is a status LED on the sensor itself that lights up as metal passes within 5mm of the end of the sensor. I've changed way more of these than solenoids? That would also cause you to loose all steering modes...

Steering lock to dead end rams only works on a few machines, Kramer being a prime example, the rams at full extension have a little flat spot at this point to allow oil to bypass and align the front and rear rams. This is not the case I'm afraid with most if not all JCB's.

Two types of solenoid on this model, I'd see which part you have been supplied. My guess is it should have been 35/901902 it gives dimensions so measure the diameter of the post the coil sits on.
