Yep I would if time wasn't main issue. Ryan moves in at the weekend.
So don't want to be ripping out all the plastic walls which are currently lipped over the old tray. So a 'quick fix' is bond a 'skin' over the old one. That'l be after I've replaced the rotten wood
Mind you it really is testing my basic skills and patience. Then there's the cleaning up and rejigging the bi-fold shower doors and frame.
Have been putting off all this until last. Wished some of you lot lived nearer

Nope, it was sold as seen. That's why I got a deal at about a grand under what others were selling similar
And there were others of similar age in far worse condition. Makes you wonder what WTF people do in their static caravans
Overall, it's in great condition and looks good. Probably get Jack to give it a wash tomorrow. He on school Easter holidays and over most days doing stuff

So today we delivered 2 x baggies of soft to our neighbour James for his workshop build...

Tuesday was concrete day on my neighbour James workshop project. Bit of a 'wrap around of the existing slab. He did a good job with the steels IMHO

Resin set some rebar into the existing

This corner of existing is slightly low but a bit of 'self levelling' and flooring will cover that

Local 'mix on site' lorry turned up spot on 0800hrs and I had agreed to use my little dumper for the wet stuff

James with his mate Jules get spreading and tamping. Ian the lorry driver is 'time served on all things concrete' and gave loads of advice and banter

James and Jules worked hard to get it tamped down. My job as dumper driver was easy!
All done including wash out and clean up by 0930hrs when we stopped for a cuppa.
Another little job jobbed

Yes that was an option but James is already blowing the budget on his build with nice timber frames and cladding
Today I gave him a pallet of engineering brick to build two courses off the slab
Told him that in his workshop/man cave it requires a good sound system and a bar

You honestly wouldn't know once the slc is over the top of both. Don't ask me how I know...

To be fair I may have a similar job to do on a garage we've just got. Its about 5m square internally. Probably a big double in its day but poxy now. I may end up making it around a metre wider as planmimg to build a wall around 1m off side. Id love it to be 6+m square but sometimes youve just got to be realistic about what your spending. Theres an existing garage there with floor, 4 walls and a roof. Just gonna be a waste of money to drop it and start again. Bit like your neighbour with his floor. Looks like he's done a pukka job of connecting them so why go to the hassle of ripping the old up.

That's a great idea Jim. When doing stuff for yourself then you just gotta be realistic as to what is acceptable
When you do it then we look forward to your photos. Loads of advice on this forum, even if it doesn't go well.
But to be positive we all like to have a go and get things done well by planning ahead

So after helping James with his concrete, he popped in helped me with selling the shower tray. I wasn't confident

James attention to detail is superb. Don't forget that this is a complete bodge up. New wood at the front in primer replacing the rotten stuff. Then the new shower tray skin is bonded using onto a previous skin, which was stuck over the original plastic tray. That said we got a now very stable tray with minimum flex

So I popped round to see how his project was getting on and dribbled all over his very nice Honda VTR Firestorm

This beauty is 29 years old and is immaculate. I am now sad that I sold my ZZR1200

In other news, it's been a week of dealing with cars and stuff....

SWMBO said that, "You cannot keep 3 cars, that Mondeo should be sold"
So my lovely 'daily driver' Mondeo Titanium X is now up for grabs on FB MP

Then Ryan phoned me from work yesterday, "Granddad, can you just have a look at my car? It's low at the back and a spring has come out"

He drove it home slowly and it arrived here looking like a speedboat

So after Parkrun, picked up Jack, my 15 year old grandson, to do some spannering. Meanwhile, Ryan borrowed the Mondeo 'cos he was hanging out with his mates this weekend
"It's a great car and goes well, can I keep it granddad?"
It's go a 'turbo sweet spot' between 2000-3000rpm.

Jack quickly found a broken spring wedged between the exhaust and chassis rail.

A quick trip to Jayar got us a new spring, all fitted, easy peasy.

Pleased to say that he knows his way around a torque wrench

Oil drained...

...and filter fitted before lunch. "Inspection" light reset - job jobbed

I am looking for a Mondeo to replace my trusty old mk3 estate the rear subframe is giving up on it and there are no normal everyday cars that float my boat apart from another Mondeo.

It’s done about 176,645 miles so barely run in and good for another 200,000 miles
Has a Lynx 1.8 TDCi engine which is bulletproof. Pulls well and does about 50ish mpg on a run.
Now I’m not keen to sell it to anyone that I know ‘cos it only has ‘Driveway Warranty’
