As per the title I'm after a kx71.

I'm not too fussed on a clapped out machine but hopefully I can drop on a semi decent one. They are getting on now so I don't expect to find a mint one.

I'd also consider a kx91. But keeping it towable might just be wise.

Yes there's also there's also other machines to consider but a kx71 is what I'm looking for currently.

Sooooo.......jcb 8026, what do we think of those.

For those that know I've just sold my 8025. It was OK just some bits like the short dipper and long blade were annoying. Couldn't fault it in the power department. Was OK with the 2ft6 bucket full of muck

I know the 8026 gets a decent review by some. This machine is also 10 years newer than what my 8025 was.

I'd still like a kx71 but I'm not afraid to rule out others.

Only slews 45degs to the left like the Yanmar if that bothers you at all...

How about the tb228? Quite a few around at that sort of age and good machines. Thumb controlled aux, spacious comfy cab

Can't say I'd seen any pop up locally but my search has been contained to kx71/91 and jcb 8026 8030/8035

Well the search continues...nothing nice around. Its all either too haggered or too expensive.

I may need to broaden my search, especially as I've a job coming soon that's going to need a 3t machine but will be on sporadic use over a good few months.

Just seen a Kubota kx71 on marketplace. £11k ISH with 4700hrs. Looked straight enough.

Sorry just found it again- its in northern Ireland so not helpful!

A lad I know has a kx61 for sale. Nearly 5k hours, it'll of been looked after that I don't disbelieve but at 13.5k it isn't what I'd call reasonable money...tho it might be if you look at other machines advertised that's been on for months and months.

I think I'm going to have to look at auction machines.

2 years ago cat offered me a brand spank 302.7 for 31.5k (i wasn't after one, they just had it there and said you can take it for 31.5, so im sure youd of negotiatied it for less).

Today they have a 2 year old one for sale at the same money. Its madness.

I'm probably been abit too fussy but the want is now becoming a need. 🤪🤪

You have your own lorry don't you- is it not better to find something just a tad larger- more value for money?

Sort of. Yes I've got the beavertail with a 3.4t payload as well as the grab lorry (although I'd need higher rated ramps). I've also many buckets for the 8025 I sold so I'd like somthing which I could use them on too. Which the kx71 does.

I'll have to pull trigger soon with what I've got lined up.

I'm just keen to keep things almost towable...currently the beavertail is out of action...wants some new gear cables(its on the list of many things to sort while working)..

Any cheapo ones about?
Sany 2.5/2.7t will be in the low/mid 20's. They likely can put a hitch on suitable for the buckets you have.

My yard invading builder has a KX91 (3.5t) he is toying with chopping out.... But he'd want 14k or so to be worthwhile.

Your coming up against the issue I've found with good S/H gear being overvalued considering the current economics.

Yes. It makes much more sense to buy new currently.
