So what does everyone think of our “world statesman” in Number 10? If he cared 1/10th as much for the UK as Trump does for the US I’d vote for him forever more.
Id say that's a hard one to guage though. Does he actually care about Americans or just his legacy? Trump is good at throwing his weight around and getting headlines, I think that is where he thrives. Sure he might have done wonders for the big topics immigration and no doubt Greenland will end up in his hands but how good is it on the ground for regular Americans. Things like healthcare, cost of living, employment, general opportunities etc. Probably too early to say now he's only been there a year...

World statesman 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Can't believe how much folk lick up the media portrayal of trump. FFS he doesn't need the money or the power hes got it

What about ...he's trying to do the best for his country and indeed the west ....cannot believe how blind folk are to Russia and China and the other nut jobs that would happily see us blown off the face of the planet . Just one glance in London this week tells you enough.

He's lighting fires under dozy self serving arseholes ...come on folks since when did our politicians have our best at heart .

Look at the other sleazeballs FFS

At the end of the day we've each got our opinions and I like they way we can discuss without the insult slinging on other places . Crack on lads ☺️

Thing is if you put a poll on this forum of who was the best UK primeminister since the 1970s your going to get a load of different answers. Has there ever been one in that time that people have unanimously agreed was good for the country? Even in retrospect.

Sold off North Sea oil rights for a pittance for a few years tax breaks just to up her popularity.

Contrast that with what Norway did and how much a better quality of life and gdp per capita they now have compared to us.

She is also the reason this country no long has any capability to produce anything and is stuck as a low income low growth economy.

If he was truly doing the best for his country then why has he tried so hard to remove any attempts of universal health care that Obama started. Why does he do nothing to negate the vast wealth gap they have (of which his friends are all responsible for) no gun control, no minimum wage. No release of the Epstein files. Various rules that have put a severe hole in America's foreign tourism.
I'm all up for patriotism but trump is in no way concerned about his fellow Americans

Gun control? Why would he want to touch that, it puts the free in freedom. Same reason they have freedom of speech. It's the best country if you value freedom. We are having ours slowly eroded away for "safety"

Trouble is we are all "looking in" from outside I know a few yanks and they love him.
If nothing else we could do with taking a leaf out of his book on dealing with illegal immigration.

Plenty of statistics that say Obama deported far more immigrants a year than trump. Without the violent mobs. And they will love him as it is the American narrative that universal health care is bad and school shootings are good.
Yes we probably don't have the most freedom in this country. But likewise it's definitely not the worst place to live

No, Maggie might have administered the lethal dose to some companies and industries but manufacturing was going down the crapper long before she came along. Blame that on the unions and arrogant, short sighted management.

Don’t know too much about the oil, but Norway has less than a tenth of our population so the oil money goes a lot further.

Simon Reeve did a very interesting prog. on Norway and its 'finances' --- invested it big time instead of squandering their oil returns ... possibly one of the wealthiest countries, per capita, on the planet

I agree with that completely, but Trump has done nothing 'for the greater good'.
I’d suggest taking out Iran’s nuclear facilities probably did all of us a favour. He also got the rest of NATO upping defence spending, which they should have been doing years ago. A lot of Venezuelans seem to quite like him as well. Some of the millions who fled might feel they’re safe to go home now.
His tariffs have made it expensive to do business with america, so all countries are scrambling to trade with (almost) anyone else - result: US retail prices go up and availability goes down.
Reciprocal tariffs means no one wants to buy anything from the US
Countries were imposing tariffs long before Trump came along. It was hard for the US or anyone else to sell into China or Japan for years. The EU haven’t exactly been easy for the US to trade with either.
If you live in the UK and have grown up with access to the NHS, it's very difficult to understand how good you have it compared to someone with no public healthcare.
If you don’t live in the UK it’s very difficult to understand how damn awful the NHS has become over the last few years. 13 months for me to be seen for suspected skin cancer, 12 months to get a hernia repaired (caused by bodged surgery a few years earlier), an operation that I felt due to the anaesthetist not doing his job properly; my mum refused a referral by her GP for over a year, and when she was finally seen was told she had terminal cancer.

I Needed knee surgery and couldn’t get seen for over a year, so paid for a private consultation with a surgeon who got me onto the NHS waiting list.

My wife has been struggling to walk for nearly two years and when she finally got seen on the NHS was told there was nothing wrong and to just keep taking paracetamol. I paid for a consultation, the surgeon looked at the same x ray and told her the joint is wrecked and needs replacing.

A GP who wouldn’t even examine my breathless mother in law as it was his home time, 24 hours later she was in hospital with heart problems. Just what I’ve seen and experienced in my own family. Multiply that by several million.

Tell me again how good we’ve got it. PS this isn’t a free service.
Trumps wealth is estimated to have increased 3bn last year (1 year) - wait until he is out of office and the deals his done start to kick in.
Source? (if it’s from the same outlets that say the NHS is the envy of the world, I’d take it with a pinch of salt)

Then again if you are a resource rich country with a small population it's not hard to be wealthy per capita. Look at England with it's massive population. People think they pay a lot of taxes but I'd hazard a guess a vast proportion cost the state more than they contribute. We got no chance against the likes of Norway or Australia

Another all time high in gold… and that’s after Trump dropped this threat of tariffs.

On days like this I make more from my metals than I do going to work 🫣

I should be happy but I can’t shake the nagging feeling that some seriously bad s**t is about to happen.
