Think I might swap up to these… ratchet can be a pain to get undone sometimes when the machine sits close to the edge of the trailer.

You can get them with both types of hook on one end. They are the most useful.

It's useful having both of you carry a variety of kit. Sometimes you can get away with one chain, sometimes no chains but you have to be really lucky to get the machine parked in the right place first time. Also depends on the bed.
Andover trailers beavertail body's can take the grab hooked anywhere along the side rail. By far the best beds. Mac bodies are horrible to use. Fine for pulling stuff forwards and backwards but no good if you want to go straight over something.

For the standard 50mm ratchet straps I like these type of ratchets.
They work perfectly especially if your tie down point is close where if you've got a tail on he ratchet it'd be too close.
I use them with 4m straps, so there's no long bits of strap to tie back and it's usually dead easy to get all 4 corners of a machine secured.

Would you want the grab hooks on the swivel bits though? Unless you’re lucky and get them with removable pins? (I don’t know chain terminology )or........
buy a set of these and split them up - 's not rocket science - 4 x 3m lengths for the price of three WITH the hooks all thrown in - job done - just buy some binders

It wont really matter, if I`m following you right, I have some chains as @V8Druid is saying a sling hook one end and a grab hook with component connector the other.
As @Smiffy say you need an assortment if you want to lash all sorts, self locking hooks are handy for some telehandlers, they don't have enough room to turn a 10mm chain sling hook into the lashing point, but a self locking hook and close around them.

ideally find some binders with just eyes and use butterfly links/chain connectors to connect whatever you want (or cut the link out of a grab hook binder and replace with a connector link for ultimate versatility)
most lift gear at this scale is no where near as costly as it was maybe ten years ago

I've just loaded and strapped it down, and thought "we need chains with a hook one end to attach direct'.
Came back here here and you lot are well ahead of me. I'll buy four normal binder sets and add my own hook with a short length of chain to get it over the corner of the trailer floor.
