Convert a plant trailer to a box trailer?

I looked into a few options just like you.

Was thinking about doing the same as you and having a removable "top" on a plant trailer. Decided against that.

Looked at and costed up building our own box trailer, had settled on a 11ft by 5.5 ft box with aluminium plank sides. Problem is it needs to be 7.5ft high to allow a micro in with the roll bar up, then it ends up looking like a horse box

Almost ordered a nugent box trailer this time last year, was somewhere around £6.5k then i thought it's alot of money for something only used 3-4 times a year.

Then Brian James brought out their new bix trailer, and it is a lovely bit of kit. They had one at plantworx kitted out for landscaping work, looked the part.

In the end I got a great deal on an Ifor Williams BV105 that was in excellent condition, never stored outside.

We will kit it out with a few bits to suit us soon, and the best bit is, it will always be worth good money when I sell it.

Is there a weight limit on the rear ramp (assuming it’s a fold down door setup)? It doesn’t seem to have any supports.

I had a BV105 for a bit (got a good deal on it from dads connection with Kingsbridge farmers market ) I couldn’t find a purpose for it at the time so sold it to a mate (0 profit) who uses it for carting his kids (and his) racing quads. Glad it’s gone to a good home. Can’t remember what it was . £1500 ish but can’t remember where the VAT fell.

In hindsight I might have been better off keeping it for the E10

I have definitely contemplated a tail lift on a trailer before. Can’t really see that it hasn’t been done before commercially. Couple of skids like on a plant trailer to take the strain.
Think it would be better on a tri axle rather than a caravan chassis though!

I'd imagine it's exciting to tow, welfare unit isn't the best to tow and that trailer is more square at the front plus the overhead part.
No idea why someone would have created that but would be fairly cheap to do something similiar

Bet that's proper weird to follow...finally overtake it and find a Mondeo towing it I bet !
