Hatz 1B30 engine over speeding

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone here is familiar with the Hatz 1B30 engines. We have one on a weber plate compactor. Engine has about 330hrs on the clock. Engine starts fine but goes straight to full throttle. So far we have removed the side cover to check for anything broken (linkages/springs) everything inside looks perfect. The governor arm rotates the bottom of the pump so nothing looks out of place. We thought maybe the operator has filled with petrol instead of diesel so we drained tank and filled with fresh diesel. Any help would be appreciated.

Has anyone been into this engine since the fault occurred? I've had one with the govenor mechanism was installed the wrong side of control lever on the pump so the pump could rev out uncontrollably till fuel was cut off. The pumps are really expensive for what they are and dead simple to control, just a lever on the pump body (all internal I'm afraid), that adjusts the fuel rate. Can't see how the govenor mechanism would fall apart but maybe that is somehow damaged internally? Without taking it in bits, I don't think there is much we can help with as there is next to nowt of the fuel system on the exterior of the engine.

Sorry for the delay, I’ve only just got back onto this machine. No one had looked at it previously. After we pulled the side cover the engine now struggles to run. White smoke when cranking and will only start with a shot of engine start. Once it’s burnt through the engine start it dies out again. I’m going to pull cover again and check timing

It’s what I do!
Timing sounds probable at this stage! They normally are very light to control fuel wise, so I would say you have a spring issue!

I have just removed cover and redone the timing. Our original issue is back with it going to full throttle. Which spring are you referring to?

Inside that cover, there are governor parts and also springs, not shown on either drawing, you need the timing gears and governor parts drawing.

Just an update. I managed to get a small piece of wire inside onto the arm that controls the injector pump. By moving towards the small square opening the engine won't go to full throttle. Do these have any known issues of the spring mounts moving on the throttle shaft?

1d the throttle lever isn’t it just a clamp bolt, so can be moved on the shaft when the bolt is loosened, send fotos of the throttle set up.
