Change hydraulic oil Cat 301.7d

I have decided to change the hydraulic oil. I am giving my little digger a good seeing to lol.
I have the correct oil, and a complete set of filters are on the way. I have looked at a few online videos and read the official maintenance manual on Sysgo.
However, it seems I need a drain tube. The oil (in the videos) doesn't seem to flow from the drain on the tank until the drain tube is attached. Is there some kind of valve on the drain hole that is activated by connecting the drain tube ( like a tyre valve ) ?
I have tried to find said drain tube online without success. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

If it's what I think it is, I have one ... will see if I can find it and get a photo - basically a QC in place of the drain plug - oil wants to be good and warm to flow through it - I took mine out to get the last dregs out the last time I did a change PITA TBH

forgot to get a pic, but this is what it is -- replaces the drain plug -- will get you some pix of mine tomorrow - pretty sure I've recalled where it is

Check your tool box/kit. They normally come with a new machine if need and normally live in the tool kit.

The engine oil normally flows through one and the hydraulic is likely the same one.

I normally start the oil running and by the time you have the filter changed its drained

Yeah, my Takeuchi 6 tonner has that pipe setup for draining engine oil and it’s not much different to pulling a drain plug out tbh - just less messy! Great design.

idea's great, but I find mine desperately slow compared to removing te drain plug - but that does involve dropping the belly plate from under the Deutz - 's a struggle anyway, with it in place

I NEVER drop both together .... one too many issues with oil pumps failing to prime in the past - drop sump, refill and then do the filter

That certainly looks like the setup I have seen in the videos. I should have inspected mine before posting. I was trying to use this rainy downtime and do my homework. We had 33 degrees on Friday, lovely and sunny. Rain since and a high of 9 degrees today. Incredible. No sign of a break in the weather until Friday

Unfortunately all I got with the digger was a manual, and that is for the 301.7D CR, which is somewhat different to my plain old 301.7D. I have the correct manual now on Sysgo.
Perhaps I don't need one after all. I just need to go and have a look. The ones in the videos may have an aftermarket one fitted just so the guy didn't get covered in oil . It's a learning curve for me ...... but I am enjoying it .

Opening the oil filler cap obviously helps massively
