I’ve literally just sold the 18’ version of that because I was f***ed off with the skids and it was too wide.

Such a faff to put the skids in each time and lock them with that spring loaded bolt, pinching your fingers.
Yeah, those spring loaded bolts are wank - they’ve changed that on the new ones too apparently. I just strap the skids on the front of the bed if I’m taking them with me.

I guess it’s probably lack of demand, but why does no-one do a nice 14ft tilt bed. 16ft is just a bit too big for me. Like an IW CT166 but shorter.

Brian James, 4.5m Tilt bed too. Tie points everywhere

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
I definitely don't want skids. I want a ramp I flip down which also supports the back when loading (like on an Ifor GH). I'm sick of f****ng about with prop stands and ramps. I've emailed them to see if they can come up with anything.

They do exist, here's a nice design from Buffalo. This came up in Facebook, a bargain or stolen at £1500 in Cardiff. However it’s only 12’ long. Ideal for mowers etc. View attachment 75585View attachment 75586
I'm in Caeeerdiff tomorrow, in the Heath - could always have a detour on the way home at that price :giggle: - where is it @doobin ??

The skids on the Bateson are only about 3 feet long, and you don’t need them to load anything that can climb up a big kerb. No propstands etc - the back of the trailer is flat on the deck for loading. And you can hang long stuff off the back with no rear tailgate. And the floor is low enough that you can pick up/put down implements off the back of the tractor sideways on (using a hydraulic top link) - I bought it mainly for that reason to allow me to move my mulcher (but can’t find any pics of that on it for some reason).

Mint trailer! Doesn’t look like you need any ramps/skids unless is a car? I’d just carry a length of timber wedge to chuck down on the back to protect the lip.
I never used the legs on my beavertail just kept two 8” offcuts and threw them under when loading - I do prefer a ramp with inbuilt legs, thus why I sold it!

They look lovely! Bet they won’t do a full width ramp though….

They do on there flat trailers so they might on there beaver is you asked?
I messaged them three days ago and no reply.

Pretty sure I’m going to go for a Nugent beavertail. Local dealer is getting one in for me to look at. It ticks all the boxes except it’s not tri axle. However it is on the 13” Knott axles with savero tyres which I like.
