Tractor power steering

Quick question not digger related but I aren't on any tractor type forums

Is straight up 46 hydraulic oil suitable for the power steering on an Iseki 320 compact tractor ? its a separate tank above the front axle.

I would personally suggest ATF fluid (Red)

Powersteering pumps IMHO on tractors and the ford Backhoes seem to like it more.

yeah atf would be fine or power steering fluid, I’ve also used super universal on Ford’s as the pumps can weep on seal and fill the sump so best to use and engine friendly oil in this case or even better fixing the leak before damage occurs. Not sure if iseki suffer from this issue? I mainly work on agricultural machines rather than smaller utility equip.

Nowt on the stick its been in the shed at home for years with an optimate on it - used to use it going back a few years but only used it twice a year for the last 5 or so ...... once a year to roll the garden and another to run a homemade log splitter.

I will get a longer stick and see if I can reach anything with it , must be summat in the tank cos it still works

Hey good call put a long length of wire in it and it was hydraulic oil ................. why didnt I think of doing that FFS ......... answer not required
