My other half works for a certain aero company, showed me these pics tonight (sorry about quality, couldn’t save from her laptop) Loading 4 new engines onto an Antinov bound for Singapore. 35million dollars each!

Re the farms bit surely if the council owned farms that are tenanted "blocking" them from becoming solar farms is a bit of red herring as a tenanted no doubt modestly sized agricultural "small holding" on no doubt as short term lease from the council was never going to become a solar farm anyway ?

I know that Cheshire East grab bits and pieces of tenanted farms back from the tenants to claim various grants/carbon capture bullshido themselves - I would be more surprised if local authorities aren’t wherever possible kicking out relatively low-value farming tenants and replacing them wherever possible with long-term ‘greenwash’ easy-earning solar farms etc. It’s good that there is a bit in common sense from reform imo.

Had to do both the brakes and wiring on the trailer so i rented a forklift and when it showed up i was not so amused (same make and model as mine, tho this one works...for about 5 minutes then it overheats and di*s).

And that’s your chosen working method !? Braver man than me 🫣

I’ve got a Jungheinrich, Probably on about 8000 hours and 26 years old and it’s remarkably reliable :), although it’s had a lot of maintenance over the years :)

I know, looks unsafe and it probably was because it was a bit tippy so i threw on a bucket full of scrap to balance it out (great success) and was reminded on why i hate doing electrical work.

As for the forklift, mine has 6000 hrs (tho i suspect someone has played around with that and that the real number is way higher) and has a ton of electronics and safety features that cannot be bypassed so if one sensor goes ti*s up then you get one very expencive door stopper. I tried to dump it in the Danube river on Friday, but my old man said he can fix it so i let him have a go and we will see what comes of it, pretty sure tho that i'm gonna be the one fixing it in the end and that the fix is gonna involve a gas can and a match

used to do the same with cars :giggle: but usually with a much bigger FLT (4 or 7 tonner) - can't find the pix this morning

Metal on metal, quite smart if you ask me, no chance of it sliding even a little bit (Disclaimer: if by any chance someone who reads this can’t figure it out, I’m joking and yes it will slide off if you nudge it even a little bit). Tho i prefer to put a wooden palette on the forks as to not damage the sills or what’s left of them if it’s a Volkswagen. Other then that, just use the magic of strapping it down with a rope, grab one of the wheels and try moving it, followed by a step back and the holy incantation of “That’s not going anywhere”.

what you can't see is the 4 small blocks of wood between the fork extensions and the chassis rails ;):)(y)-- been there, done that, got the Tee shirt :giggle::giggle:
