It was indeed mentioned to them, they suggested bleeding the check valves or altering pilot pressures.

The first has been done the latter not.

I need to go back to them now I know this and see what they say.

Thanks for the info. 👍
Well in that case it’s an “on going problem, that hasn’t been resolved”, I personally wouldn’t start playing around with anything until they have been back out to you, if you do, it’s a good chance that, that will be there get out of jail card, voiding any on going warranty claim. Push them to get out sooner rather than later as your unable to work down to the issue, and should you be unable to work and have to hire in a machine, they will be picking up the invoice for it. Who’s your dealer? (appreciate if you don’t want to mention them).

Check and make sure it’s not getting stuck into lifting mode.
Check pilot pressures
Bypass check valves
Check boom rams for excessive leakage when dead ending with a hose off.
Check make sure spools are free

I shall have to check, I know it has a lift overload indicator

I’m wondering if it has some sort of cushion control system, like boom suspension. That is possibly a bit over active or holding the pilot pressure on the boom check valves too long? If it had a lifting mode then it would be common sense for it to override any boom suspension system. Purely speculation though, as I’ve no experience of your machine.
Failing that, I think I’d check to see if indeed the pilot pressure to the check valves is being maintained after the release of the lever.

Having said all that, it’s a low houred machine, just out of warranty, and as Ollie has indicated, it’s potentially an on going issue, providing it has been logged correctly by the dealer. This must be your first point of call, you need a definite answer from them as to their commitment to sorting it out, or at worst you need to know if they are washing their hands of it! If they are walking away then you can start looking into it yourself or find a good independent mechanic.

"Fit for purpose" is my first thought  :mad: ...... which it ain't .. obviously ... I know they've been out to it and failed ... and you've suffered this for two years, with no remedies .... could be time to get litigious if they won't 'stand on' on their obligations

Soooo a little update . I've been back to the dealer, they have said that because it was reported before the warranty ran out they will honour it.
Very happy to hear that and as such the machine was loaded up from its last job and sent straight over to them ,

Here's hoping 🤞

That’s great news👍🏼, always nice to here of a dealer working with you, they’ll of been plenty who don’t realise that they STILL have a leg to stand on once the warranty has expired and then end up with a big bill, which is just a bonus for the dealer.

Just curious if you're dealer was able to get your boom issue sorted and what the solution was? Thanks

Hi
As such they said there was nothing wrong with it.
They suggested getting their hydraulics expert to call for a look and I'm still waiting for him 🙄

I've given up now to be honest

send the dealer a letter before action. Your solicitor will charge a bit for it but will focus their mind as they will no longer be able to fob you off. Clearly state you need it fixing, give them 14 days to reply.

Then its a case of getting a worst case price to fix it and small claims them assuming £10k would fix it.

Unless it's either a known fault or easy fix, which to be fair it looks like neither or it would have been sorted that's probably the response from you they are after. 😡

When they were looking into my machine the hydraulic expert was called Terry, I forget his surname, got the lap top out and plugged into the machine which showed the spike in the hydraulics, put it down to low pilot pressures and suggested these to be changed, this was early November 17, took till mid February 18 to get the bits swapped, made zero difference.
After sending the machine to them for 2 wks for the to '' look at it in more detail '' it came back still no different it took till October 18 for the next update which made the tracking slightly better but the grading worse, decided then to move it on. I felt the support from my dealer and Doosan was poor, the dealer always blamed the factory for the delay in receiving info and updates, the Takeuchi I replaced it with had even more problems however this was resolved, I don't think either are bad machines but the dealer should give you the support and take the issues up with there supplier and not act as the middle man.

Can't understand how the dealer can look you in the eye and claim nothing wrong with it , total bullshit. Unless they do much better by you Doosan and Bobcat is Off my buy list, was considering they're 62 and 63 models.
