The issue arises purely and simply that even the professionals are f****ng stitching themselves up and basically aiding in reasons for them to do this sort of thing.

Burying shite on site as discussed elsewhere is a prime reason.

I hate bureaucracy and think any form of licensing is utter shite, But doing what I do daily. Even the f****ng professionals have the ability to act like rouges purely by committing to projects they have no idea about!

Wouldnt stop anything, just another tax on the working man. Without any proper way to police it the weekend warriors and cash in hand special brigade will carry on regardless
Majority of people who complain about being ripped off, are the same sort of arseholes wanting Lamborghini work with a Lada budget

Spot on.

Regulation is just a means of extortion. The issue arises in that people open themselves up to regulation as soon as they start doing dodgy things.

They have it in Australia I think it does work over there but agree it would just be a money spinner here.
Over there you have to be either chippie or brickie then go on course to become builder. I've looked into it and couldn't even do what I do over there despite doing it since I was 15 and starting over there! You have to have a certain amount of capital a bit like you licensed operators hgv boys. Crucially I think if your work isn't up to scratch the customers are covered by the scheme. I think it has strong government oversight so isn't just left to become a money maker.
...we do have some rouges here...

this wont do any of the things thy want to do apart form be another tax on the working man.
big firms will just pay it and wont improve the workmanship it will just be a tick box thing.
the cash in hand guys will just carry on regardless.
small and medium firms will try and do things right and will pay up
all that said if it is not policed with rigger it wont be worth the paper it is printed on.
we have had cscs cards for trades for some time and most guys i work with on site will have a basic card not a kerb layer or pipe layer among the but the kerbs still get laid and the pipes get put in

ether have it and enforce it or leave the paper in the woods and leave it to grow for the kids

When you see some of the shite that national house builders, with their NHBC guarantee or whatever, get away with there’s no hope of keeping every small builder in line.
And the nationals will have enough non-jobs working for them in offices to dot all the I`s and cross the tee`s and submit them no doubt reams of paper, and then make out they are better than you, because they are licenced. (And still turn out rubbish)

The whole CSCS card thing has become silly, with separate cards needed for a lot of things. Some sites will stop labourers/groundworkers feom doing anything other than what their card says

There is that but why have a general groundwork one and then have separate kerbing, paving, drainage etc

Anyone with a proper range of skills will tend to be found outside of the jurisdiction of a CSCS site.

Given the iq of the average bricklayer or digger driver, I’d say there’s a good case for keeping them away from anything else.

the whole system is f***ed. New builds are throw together by monkeys who couldn’t care less, and our economy relies upon people enslaving themselves for thirty years to buy one.

Pricework is the biggest cause of s**t work, although to be fair the clowns that are there on day work aren't much better. Problem is with the speed they want them building, alot of large companies will just take anyone with a CSCS card to do whatever the job is. The cards don't really mean anything except someone has paid for the course/test and more than likely being led/prompted for the answers due to the trainer's not getting paid or bonuses.
Have seen some truly shocking work on site (don't go on very often) walls starting with a 128mm cavity then being 100mm by top of door opening, steels being fitted to find out the whole house is a course out from each opening, brickwork that steps in as it's out of plumb, let alone when down/uplighters are fitted that the wall looks like a game of Jenga, the chippies aren't much better and have even heard the plasterers say just easifill and sand the wall and that was in a brand new building

This is true, apart from when, 1, they need something doing ASAP, because they’ve f@#ked up and need getting to be getting back on program or 2, it’s a weekend and it’s just a case of crack on and get the job done.
