If you can get a heated screen I would definitely do so, and left and right seat armrests make a big difference to comfort imo.
Done a little homework and it seems to commerce plus is the one to go for, found one with some options ticked too - heated windscreen, rear camera and few other bits.. oh and 12k off list! Still abit dearer than white ones - it’s in grey which seem hard to find so they seem to charge more for them !

Is it new or pre reg you looking for? If new MAN i found to be better as you start with base van then add what you want rather than VW having different models you don’t want the options with.

Was going pre reg, but found a new one at a dealer, it’s afew k more expensive but finance is 4% less! So levels it self up, but with all the bits I want.
I don’t know why but all the MAN vans seem more expensive?

Speak to Alun at AN Richards - he’s worth bouncing a few figures off and is a really decent bloke.

Not sure on pre reg costs As I have been getting custom build costs where MAN are a lot cheaper than VW, VW phoned me with a “great pre reg deal” think cancelled order but it was still thousands more than a MAN with better spec.

Good point....except you need to go through the spec list carefully as everything needs adding....like A/C etc...ask me how I know 😑🫣🫣

I hate buying new things when there is such variables in the choices!!
A new Renault master is coming out at nearly 7k cheaper than a vw crafter(AFTER 12k discount!).. normally I’d just go straight for ‘the best’ but I fail to see how a crafter can be 7k better for what I need…?! Resale on both after 7/8years are pretty much compatible too. Test drive time I think?

That's why we went French for the last couple vans when we bought new, best part of 10K difference in new when comparing to Ford or Merc, cant see it ever paying me back the difference when its a work van for the lads to knock about. However... our 21 plate Transit is a much nicer tool than the similar spec 24 plate Stellantis van... If I was in it for 8 hours a day then an extra £20 a week spread over 10 years would be worth every penny. Also the Merc/VW/Transits do hold their used prices better than the French stuff

I can’t see a Renault van having anything like the same residuals as anything with an ‘Adolf’s people’s car’ badge tbh. £7k is a lot though!

Had a new Renault traffic at work in ‘06, spent most of the 3 years with its engine management light on despite dealer maintenance. If it’s just a work tool it’s hard to justify the 7k difference, but residual value will always be higher with the crafter down the line.

We ran a Master for three years before upgrading To a Tranny. That was a mistake. The Master was a better drive, and better put together, imo.
We have a 70 plate Movano which is a rebadged Master. Also had a 16plate.
Not sure which Tranny you were driving but we have (and have had had over 20) and every single one has been a better drive than the French variant .
