Little help needed please.
I went to the barn today and noticed an oil stain on the bucket.
Im assuming the seal has gone?
Is it just a case of knocking the pins out and undoing the hoses and taking it to be repaired.
Mechanics aint my thing and Im a bit concerned it maybe under pressure.
Any advice will greatly received.

I wouldn’t say it’s majorly urgent but yes, just remove ram and take to your local ram repair place. Will only be under pressure if you don’t life the bucket clear of the floor! Shouldn’t cost much.

's a big ram - do you know how long it took to dis-assemble? can be an utter bar steward to get apart - used to do a lot for our local hyd.s place, when they failed to get the end cap out - 't is steep though

Samsung 240 last time we did one it took a day not easy but not drastic this time we were busy so took it in and was supposed to get a no obligation quote a few days later we get a call its ready no quote but what a shocker with the price

as said earlier - some can be utter bar stewards

they should not have proceeded without first quoting you as agreed, to give you the opportunity to decline.
just charging on and then billing you with that level of invoice is not on.
they know they have you over a barrel once done.
I'm sure there would be some form of legal obligation on their part, to 'mediation' of some sort on their 'heavy' bill, but although against the grain, chucking any further bucks at 'fighting' it wouldn't be productive.
there is more than one way to " skin a cat " / air grievances -- social media is a powerful tool and a bad rep. is hard to shake, just as easily as a good one is to lose - bad news spreads faster than oil on water - may be a case of 'suck it up' initially and conduct a damaging campaign on their manner of doing biz.

BUT .. at the end of the day, you said yourself .. took a day last time - they'll have had at least one man, probably two, on it a lot of the day and time is money - bet the seal kit was a couple of hundred quid too

Exactly, when you ad it up its not too bad. Some of the Samsung/Volvo rams had a serious torque on the nut and need to be stripped in a bench with a torque multiplier etc

you'd not get a seal kit for less than double that, for that size of ram Gavin ... last kit i bought for a leg ram on the 'Drema was circa 145 quid - must get around to fitting it too
