I wondered why id been enjoying work lately compared to the last few years... had my answer today, got nicely set up and going before a pissdown that threatened to flood the job, had early lunch and it dried up enough to continue, so we nicely got going again and it pissed it down again and turned it into a swamp !

Normal service resumed..hate the bloody job

This was pretty isolated, it was dry at home 15mins away ! but we get similar rainfall figures to yorkshire just a layer or 2 warmer mostly.

Lashed it down for an hour yesterday evening for an hour or so

nothing here - out in shirtsleeves 'til nine ...
neighbour said she was in Hereford the night before when that big storm was rumbling away in the distance and said it was wild - lightning flash after flash and continuous booming and she wasn't under the centre of it - further north - got absolutely drowned out in it though.

came up to see if I could go take a look at their mower - hubby's away at Everest base camp, doing a prog about some loon running up to the camp - sorted it anyway - new Husqy with a Briggs an' Scrap 'em on it - no throttle or choke controls - all auto and was flooding the damned thing - strip, clean, dry it all out and was away

Trying to wrap up extension at home, doing my head in, piddling little thing is taking as long as building a full house!! Makes you appreciate how much economies of scale come into play on house building!! Plus I keep getting told to be quiet as Mrs has little one in the house!

On mine too otherwise never going to get it done, frustrating week silly little things taking 3 times as long as they should

Likewise! Biggest problem when I’m working at home Mrs uses me as daddy day care - oh can you just sit with kids for a moment… oh nip them to school while your here.. oh pick them up .. oh make lunch! Be glad when I can get back to site and pretend I have no phone signal might get something productive done!

It’s all good fun….. when it’s over and done with from last house, during covid and first baby zippy doors are your best friend!

We lived out of a utility room that's about 3x2m and and "study" for 6 months in 2018 . Did have only 2 sprogs then tho
IKEA hob,microwave,Weber gas BBQ and weather like we have now got us through. Man I'd hate to do it in winter. We got lucky with the weather looking back now

I’ve got 6 crappy fan heaters and 3 oil radiators in the corner of my garage reminding me of cold winters having DPM as windows

Last project was fairly big, but didn’t have to live in it thankfully. Now to do it all again
