I understand that its the aromatics in Kero/Heating oil/C28 that make rubbers swell and cause plastics to go brittle - and also react with stuff like sealants. Not present in Derv.

I vividly remember doing the first service on a big self propelled forage harvester that was fitted with an Iveco lorry engine, fuelled on cherry the filters came out of their housings in their component parts ,no sign of the glue that was supposed to hold them together 😯

this has got to be one of the most techy dollies I've ever seen - hydraulic follow on steering at the hubs :oops:

The RAC ones are RDT’s, can’t say as I’ve seen one with hydraulic steering before. They don’t use anything special in the van that I’m aware of, that is just for storing it.

Looks like proper RAC job. Be surprised if it works without all the other gubbins they have in the van...🤔
from what I can see of it the draw bar provides the oil supply to the steering cylinders as it articulates ..... god knows what that cost new

Ahhh, it would seem the hydraulics are an option for the unfolding, not steering. Found this vid….

basically a hydraulic track rod - from this section of the vid ... castor action for steering but the hydraulics keep them operating in tandem -- 's a bloody clever design and bet it cost a small fortune
