You might not like them, but they sum up a whole paragraph and more in just one pic.
Don't confuse IQ with common sense or logic, they're not the same thing. I do think very logically, I question lots of things, take nothing for granted. That's nothing to do with being clever, i'm not.
When you start to believe the crap that is posted up on social media and in particular Farcebook to such a degree that you think it's a hard fact that you can enter into intelligent debate then it's time to sit down and have some serious words with yourself. Question or consider such things as:
Are you spending too much time on there?
If you tell someone something enough times they will start to believe it.
FB is largely inhabited by people with low IQs.
Those with the higher IQs are the ones spreading rumour, coercing, manipulating and making money from it. They do this by using you and your time.
Most of what you read on there is opinion, not true or is a part truth. Rarely a fact.
Consider it a place to dick around, show people what you had for breakfast etc. It's what it was designed for. It is not an education centre.
It's like any other bad habit or addiction (eating s**t food, smoking, drinking etc), ok in small amounts, with the full knowledge of what you're getting yourself into and the ability to be able to pull back and away when needed.
After i'd written that I got to thinking that was my opinion because I like the truth and facts. I didn't really think that other people don't think like me, maybe they enjoy being filled full of, well, the opposite of that. Sorry to those people.
But the irony is this; you're posting in a thread about people making money out Climate change.
Whenever you take to Social media* you're doing exactly that. You're making money for the people posting up this nonsense in the first place.
It's on the increase, I find I can't go anywhere (on social media) without someone ramming untruths down my throat.
I feel like it's a case of 'the idiots taking over the asylum' and people are making money out it!
I've been following a famous social media gardener for some years and he's right into it. He'll post up a pic of some con-trails with a non-committal comment, his FB page lights up and the money continues to roll in. When you read the comments underneath it's typically women who believe we're being sprayed with mysterious chemicals, but plenty of men too. It's a mix of battling and gormless comments.
That's mainly because women don't do logic, maybe they're more gullible, I don't know.
Not only that, but it's spilled over onto the local FB pages. They're not content with talking about lost pets, dog muck, speeding and parking everyday, but the climate control nutters have also moved in! We're getting pics posted up of airplanes and clouds over the village with comments along the lines of 'they're all out to get us' etc. I'm finding it difficult and worrying finding out that this issue is so widespread.
It seems like there is no sane place to go on SM and i've long wanted to take myself off it, but don't. You see, it's got me hooked too I suppose because out of the 99% bollocks on there occasionally there is something worth reading. But I just find myself pointing and laughing at it most of the time.
It's also good for keeping in touch with people and blogging - which is what it was supposed to be for in the first place. As you can see, i'm torn.
* To be clear I don't believe this forum is for monetising - this is a good thing. I don't put it in the same social media category as these other places at all.
