Jcb htd5 project

Evening all

I have a older htd5 that has served us well for the last years but ahes getting tired now, especially on the tracks. I know these are well known for being pretty naff regarding their tracking . More than just the tracking gone weak the engine is pretty tired also.

Plan is to now go over to a honda gx engine and more than likely a new hydraulic pump and travk motors

Now regarding track motors. To look at they are a pretty standard looking 4 bolt 25mm shaft motor, they are available off the shelf. But jcb being jcb had eaton male these specifically for themselves and i cant find any info on them. Has anyone fitted a non genuine motor before and happen to know the cc rating?

Changed a track motor a few months ago 332/v1395 was the part number which is apparently a t195 pump

195 meaning cc i assume? Was it a genuine eaton unit you had or another brand?

Genuine JCB, would assume it's still Eaton, original had an Eaton badge the new one didn't, starting looking at trying to get a pattern part then didn't want the hassle of getting the wrong one and any that looked similar were not really any cheaper. If you Google the part numbers should be some specs somewhere

How much would you get selling yours on ebay/marketplace and sticking the money towards a new one? You’ll be in for heavy money upgrading as you suggest.

That's actually not a bad price I paid just under £970 inc vat for one track motor, sprocket but as I had to cut mine out, needed a new bearing and bearing housing which added another £170 Inc vat.
No idea if that setup would also need a bearing as well though.
My mate has a newer htd5 with those motors although he reckons it isn't any better than my 2017 one, not had them side by side in a job to see if they are actually better though
