I have been offered 3 x 2018 tiltrotator machines this week and two older ones from 5 individual people

I dont know sales numbers for tiltrotator machines but I do think its a bubble that may burst the more people that get them? They are being built to huge specs and then the work just isn't there or something....

I did here there was a large contractor that couldn’t find the right drivers for some of there tilty machines. I am over the moon with mine on the 3 toner and will be getting one on the 8 toner at some point. Depending on what work you do if the machine is on straight reduce dig and foundations using anything bigger than an 8 toner then you don’t really need one.

Wow that's some investment to sell on so soon, could it be a case of either not skilled enough operators or just not being able to recover the costs for tilty setups in hire charges. Would have thought resale value for the tiltys would be high if they removed from the machine to sell separate, so maybe just a case of not large enough machine in the first place??

What sort of markdown over the new cost are you looking at for the one year old machines? Could be a good way to upgrade a machine as well as get a tilty for someone looking.
Always amazes me who quickly some stuff gets turned round. Problem is it never seems to be what I'm looking for!

s**t, my E10 has 200 hours on it at a year old and I only owe 10k on it. Puts things in perspective.
I think we’ve a long way to go till full Scandinavian adoption, but any owner op worth their salt and quoting right should be able to make a tilty pay.

for large contractors, I think machine control would pay dividends much quicker than a tilty as well as getting them in under bim regs.

I always say to people with tiltys to stick her for sale for 6 months and see. Don’t change prices as it won’t really attract anybody else. We have sold maybe 10 tilt rotate machines in our time and they all take time.

the u48 I sold recently I owned, bought it with a view of 6 months. At month 4 with many track kickers in between I was thinking bugger I might have this one wrong and then a few weeks later it sold . The price was the same the whole 5 months

I was tempted but didn’t think it was a big enough of a jump up from the 3 tonner to justify the additional transport hassle it would bring!! But I think he had the price right on the money!!

The trouble with specialist plant is it is just that. There are two many people at present "Investing" in hugely spec'd setups to do standard work.

I'm sorry but no return means no purchase for me, the way I see it too many people have jumped off the ledge hoping the pile of muck will appear under them before the financial noose they have round there neck tightens!

It was the view of quite a few people at the recent Engcon demonstration day that Sandhills machine was a good buy, I reckon whoever bought it was wise to get in when they did

A new 8t machine now is circa 80k Plus your extra's. A tiltrotator with trimmings is another 20k at least

You'll burn 120k minimum with a full spec 8t machine, tilty, grapple, set of buckets etc time it's spec'd up....

Then they go out pissing around on crap rates In my world a 8t machine is a £40/hr machine on a wet hire. My 175's are going from £35 - £40hr in January.... Trouble is there are too many dreamers going out to cover costs. Tilty or not alot of people are working at suicidal rates still!

The tiltrotator Bubble is exactly that in this country. There is not the onsite/management level brainpower to recognise the benefits it brings and increase the required rate to suit the machine specification... with the best will in the world they could be the best £20k you'll spend, but if the productivity is'nt reflected in the rate your pissing in the wind.

not at all only that it’s so specialist I think people think you can just sell them nice and easy. It takes time and is not a science to it. I only bring it up as we have been offered so many recently.... they used to be very special... people trying to cash out of new kit is not good

You can buy cat 8 tonnes for low 50s .
Cbl are dropping 6k a machine on 8 tonnes of they can get 10 deals together. That’s low 50s too
