Yeh , welcome🙂, nice to hear, @doobin has bobcat as well and he’s says there very good, well actually to the point where i nearly got one a couple of months ago just off his review of them, didn’t even go and see it. Am I right in saying that they are a Doosan in Bobcat colours or vice-versa?
I think so... don’t see many Doosan in these parts but I’ve read they’re the same when I first started looking, maybe not take my word for it!
I bought the E10 to replace an aging yanmar 1.5 and not have to hire micros... and it wasn’t far off the pace despite the size difference.
E10 is so stable, track width extended is not far off the E19!
E19 is twice as productive as E10 if not more. Happy so far.👍🏼

The smaller machines. Ie e10 e17 19 e26 plus some others are all bobcat machines painted orange and badged doosan and called dx rather than e.

All the doosans are bobcats painted orange upto the 8t
The dx 27 is doosans own machine and i believe a 5 or 6 t is doosans own. But the dx27 is/has been replaced by the dx26 which is a bobcat

I think it would be difficult for anyone to rival the parts department for cat there overnight stock is unbelievable had some really oddball parts for 30 year old machines on site next day from the big warehouse in Germany
Including cosmetic components that you wouldn't even expect to still be available
Well not quite, it’s at Grimbergen just outside Brussels, but still the JCB factory is only two hours up the road from here, and two weeks for parts still in production? The Wacker dealers (we use TJC) seem to carry more consumables And wearing parts.

Hope this helps.
Just bought a long arm canopy E19.
Grades well, loads of reach, very powerful. Much more than a 1.5t machine. Reach and depth not much less than a 2.5. Only thing to be aware of is fill the 39inch ditcher and at full reach it will always lift a track and also front to back if on a slope without blade down. And it won’t fit in a shopping container....
I also got the comfort pack which gives you a better seat and aux/slew on the sticks. I wanted to run a tilt bucket without foot pedals... the response on the slew button is a little delayed but quite precise so not sure I made the right decision there!
Looks big against a E17 in their yard.
With keypad, 3 year warranty and three buckets I paid £17.5k £1750 deposit and £262 per month on bobcat 0% finance over 5 years.
Standard E19 canopy was £16.9k
Have an E10 too, not a single prob in 800 hours. Absolutely amazing bit of kit. Love it. Paint is ok but not great.

Thanks for that info.

When and where did you buy it?

I'd go for the same machine if I could get the same deal.

However just ordered a full set of pins and bushes for the stick and bucket, plus another door lock, took two weeks for half of the order to come, told another two weeks for the rest, and these are wearing parts.

How many hours has it done to need new pins? I thought they were on the "only grease them every 500 hrs" scheme. Should last for ages at that rate.........:sneaky:

Sticking to the 500hr grease intervals is a bad idea imo.

With regards to parts backup, I rate JCB highly. Parts delivered within 24hrs usually, which is good. Yes there are times when this doesn’t happen, but you don’t always get the full story or the truth from the spotty oik in the parts department, human error can occur just in the phone call ordering parts!

I’ve never had an issue with JCB parts either, if ordered before 4pm I think it is (might be 5pm, I can’t remember) they’re in Aberdeen by 7am the next morning.

Just to confuse matters, I had heard that JCB are making a 1.5T machine that are all electric, not hydraulics. Is this true? Any feedback or comments?

With the environmental noise now I would have thought they would have arrived years ago. A motor the size of a soup can giving 8kW is up to hydraulic levels, just the ball screws instead of rams.

It’s absolutely madness, and why anyone would stick to that is beggars belief, know a lad who had a Hydradig and did that.....pins and bushes shot to pieces....and I’ve read that on the bigger machines it’s gone to 1000hrs!!

Been out for a while, apparently around 4 hours use to a charge depending on what's being done. 3 phase electric can fully charge in 2 hours otherwise its 8 hrs at 230v and 12 at 110v.
Bobcat have recently done the e10 as an electric version
Biggest issue with electric beside the run times is the cost of it's anything like the little dumpers or cars, it could be a 10k difference for the privilege.
Seen recently of a company running an all electric dumper/loader although to be more accurate it's actually two if them so one can be on charge and still have one working.

Battery tech just isn't where it needs to be for full shift work

Just had a look out of interest and the standard JCB 19c has a mrrp of 22.2k plus vat and the electric version has a mrrp of 40.2k plus vat 🤯

Using batteries only is silly, they are far too expensive, a diesel engine and generator with a small lead acid backup battery for regenerative braking is all that is needed.

I nearly bought a pile of cheap ball screws to try making my own, but outbid.

Apparently JCB are selling as many of the electric ones as they can make, so they say.

I am waiting to see if the car recovery people will cover flat batteries for the get you home recovery. Even cheaper, drive 10 miles and get the rest free.

Your all talking cross purposes, the new electric machines are a standard hydraulic machine with a battery pack instead of engine. Niche market but a market nevertheless.
Can’t see anyone going down ball screw route, you couldn’t run any attachments
