I’ve got 9 houses and 1 commercial unit stuck in planning, some of them have been nearly 3 years since initial surveys were carried out!! How is that sustainable!!
Feedback on one yesterday from our eco warrior friends was that one dimension was missing from the bat loft drawing… we had height, depth and volume on there…. If they really desperately needed the width they could have figured it out - taken them 6 weeks to respond back with that btw!

Personally i think it’s a big con , all these people know each other ; they know if they bounce a report it will mean whoever redoes the eco report will earn a few extra bucks , it’s corruption , just a different form
Disclaimer: I've been f'd over a few times with planning so I may be biased in my opinion ! :)

nah -- that's a pretty fair appraisal IMHDO -- all in each other's pockets, in 'the old boys' club.
Planning should be taken completely out of the hands of incompetent, unqualified, trumped up, little tin Gods, who currently 'sit on high' deciding the fate of other ppl's lives/livelihoods ..
if yer face doesn't fit - you'm ****ed, in a lot of cases ...
often 'who you know' / or have upset 🤬 🤬

ditto on the disclaimer ...... but still a fair assessment :mad:

Well your right on one thing my ecologist did indeed earn a extra £400 for the bat loft addition… but i think it’s more justifying their jobs.. if everything flew through planning and there was no backlog they would be out of a job in no time!

Waiting for planning on an extension at the moment, my planning agent used to work for local council planning dept so hopefully knows his way around it.

I do some plumbing work for a local eco trust charity outfit. They seem to have got their nose into being consulted on anything planning related, which I imagine brings more funding to throw at buying land and “rewilding” places.

Worth a read if anyone ever considers a listed house with outbuildings… Ive got caught up in it the last few years

Had that at my dad’s old place - the barns were separate and not listed but the conservation officer was a nightmare and everything was treated as listed. They didn’t actually object to conversion to a dwelling but nothing could be done without their consent (and they insisted upon some ridiculous ideas). Made the job difficult and expensive.

they are all the same, biggest bunch of LAZY, UNTRUSTWORTHY, thieving twats
Fixed that for you Bob

had a good, acceptable offer on Vicki's old house last May ... idle twats never followed up on it and the offerer bought an alternate property ten days later .. they 'forgot' FFS    .....sacked them off and went with a different agent -- first lot haven't heard the last of it from me, but biding my time currently to see how much we'll be 'down' eventually, before pursuing them through their professional association for their incompetence

" Sullivan’s referral comes after he served as an expert witness for the seller of a luxury Notting Hill mansion which was found by its buyers, Iya Patarkatsishvili and Yevhen Hunyak, to be infested by what one insect specialist had described as a moth infestation of “extreme proportions”.

A High Court judge ruled in February that the buyers were entitled to a full refund as the seller William Woodward-Fisher, had failed to disclose the infestation. Mr Woodward-Fisher has since been handed a £36.5m final court bill.

Sullivan was criticised by the judge, Mr Justice Fancourt, for providing “flawed” evidence and for being ”unwilling to make sensible concessions”. "

" Merseyside Police names 12 people charged following investigation into awarding of council contracts
Former Liverpool mayor Joe Anderson is among 12 people charged with bribery and misconduct relating to council contracts following an investigation involving a number of property developers.

Derek Hatton, former deputy leader of Liverpool council in the 1980s, and the council’s former director and regeneration chief Nick Kavanagh are also among those charged. "
