In 2021 I got quoted 17.5k plus VAT...... I got one for 8k with 500 ish hours (allegedly) on the clock. And it's been pretty much no trouble at all - I would say it's pretty bullet proof. I wouldn't bother with a new one

I'd just go and buy yourself a decent micro with servos such as a Bobcat E10. The JCB is such an outdated design- who wants to be hunched over sticks all day?

Or if you're going to go sticks, yanmar sv08, skiniest you can get. Hired mine to my mate who owns an 8010 a couple of weeks ago, yanmar fitted, jcb wouldn't.
I do find the jcb nicer to sit on, but the yanmar better to operate. But that could be because of the quick hitch on it.

The jcb is definitely nicer to sit on than the yanmar. My current 8010 is around 2500hrs (which ive had from new, previous one was about 1500 hrs when it was sold) and I can and do sit on it all day long. I think they are great machines and shouldn't be confused with the 8008.

I'm buying last years model 0 hours with a quick hitch for 15,700 plus the Vat, they look pretty hard wearing that's what swayed me towards a jcb

A micro is a micro. I’d sooner be comfortable than hunched over sticks. Comfortable and smooth is accurate, accurate is fast.
If access is tight you’re hardly going to be bulking out with a 3ft bucket.

That's not bad at all. The 8010 has been factory order for a good few years now, hence the high price.
You will not fault it, plenty of power and very stable.

But you assume its uncomfortable to sit one. I've done about 4500hours on them and there's no issues in me sat on them all day.

I just can’t stand sticks when servos are readily available and I think OP should consider this. Technology moves on.

If sit on the 8010 all day everyday, then I do find my back aches... can't comment on other more modern micros. I think I'm right in saying that the 8010 is the most powerful in its class and one of the, if not the narrowest, at 700mm. I've heard said it's basically a 1.5 tonne power in a smaller machine

Yes the 8010 is well the best in that respect. I run both an e10 and 8010 side by side, e10 wins in the zts stakes. Tight jobs zts is needed but in tight jobs where zts isn't then I'd take the 8010 out the yard every time. I'm far from saying the e10 is bad...it's definitely not...all I'm saying is its 2nd for me.
There's many other micros I'm not a fan of and wouldn't buy personally, takuich with servos was most uncomfortable experience of them all (personal preference) I'd not buy one after a week of sitting on one.
End of the day they all dig a hole and give less aches than the manual option

I find i can sit on my 210 all day long but anything with sticks in front mainly the kubotas just ruins me, back aches after 20 mins at least the jcbs angle the sticks towards you
