I'm at £750 plus vat a day. Not doing a lot of pushing, the angle dozer is just what came with it. I think I'll make a couple of stay bars to replace the rams and then fit 600 pads with just enough cut off the inside to give clearance on those. That should be fairly balanced.

That’s what I’d do.. I think youll get away with flat bar just bent nicely around where the tracks will protrude.. can’t see it flexing as there’s one each side. Or there is a fair few straight dozer blades on eBay.. never know!

I said it'll be fine if your actually using a wide spread where you need a wide spread.

Mate had a KX080 on a wide tracks. The wear was horrendous because it was being used on forestry tracks and the chains where twisting.

If your on flat, soft ground it should be fine..... If your twisting the chains the wear will be horrific

Yes, he had a 3 piece boom too.

But his was the mark two version with more tracking power

There are always a few dozer blades in the jcb ams auction etc can’t you swap for one of them, doubt you’ll have much use for it? Is it just angle or is it tilt as well so would be handy on slopes etc

Maybe but I prefer the idea of steel bars then I can always make it hydraulic again.

Plus that’s much cheaper! £50 with of steel and some ORFS hydraulic blanking caps. Probably less time messing around too.

As I’m in the digger, here’s a photo of the problem. Just removing the guarding would give a fair bit more clearance I think. So a real simple stay bar might be all that’s needed

A little extra work, but weld a boss onto the blade frame and just put a short arm in this bit? You’d only need to do one side I’d guess.. you’d fly 600 tracks on then

Possibly. But I just know I’d end up needing a new ram!

Nothings happening till it’s back at the yard so realistically a month at least!

Similar thoughts had crossed my mind but there won’t be much flow there. Brush grab is an excellent idea though.
